Things to Know Before You Choose Veganism

I, Reagan Fleming, am a vegan. However, this week has been my "cheat week" because I have had an extremely stressful week. I may or may not be drinking a chocolate milkshake as we speak.

If you, dear reader, are wanting to change your eating habits to be a vegan, here are some things that you will need to understand:

Some people just won't understand why you're vegan. And they will voice their opinion:

And sometimes, people feel the need to be extremely rude when they share their opinion. Some think that being vegan means not getting enough protein or even enough food in a day.

There will be days where you want to consume every dairy/meat product known to man:

...And you won't be able to eat any of it:

Even if it's pizza. Or ice cream. Or a milkshake. (*cough cough* except for when you're having a terrible day and a milkshake sounds delightful. Then it is acceptable, I think).

But, no fear, you'll soon discover that there are ways to make regular food into vegan food:

And remember, not all of us are judgmental of meat eaters:

I am not one of those vegans that judge others when they eat meat or dairy products in front of me (I understand that steak is delicious). However, some vegans are like this. I have chosen this way of eating because I personally feel healthier when I eat this way, and I would recommend it to anyone. But hey, it's my preference.

I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
