Russell Westbrook: 10 Alternative Character Masks to Wear

Just how Ray Lewis' arm brace turned him into a supervillain reminiscent of those in comic books, the same thing is happening to Oklahoma City Thunder player, Russell Westbrook. He has become a masked hero who just recently had an amazing run of four triple-doubles, which is more than LeBron James has. Here are 10 characters that also donned masks and went on to do the remarkable.

10. Batman – The caped crusader is not the basketball player OKC needs, but the one it deserves. Na na na na na na na na BATMAN.

9. The Phantom of The Opera – The “Opera Ghost" who mysteriously haunts the court of the Chesapeake Energy Arena. He appears to make magnificent plays like running the length of the court to make a maddening dunk and then disappears.

8. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – How awesome would it be if we heard the Thunder bench shout “COWABUNGA, DUDE" after Westbrook nailed a 3-pointer? And if there was unlimited pizza provided at games because that's the only thing a TMNT can eat? Westbrook just needs to rename himself after a Renaissance artist.

7. Bane – “No one cared who I was … until I put the mask ..." Imagine Westbrook emerging from the darkness of the locker room and the opposing team questioning which will break first, their spirits or their bodies.

6. Hannibal Lecter – Russell Westbrook with the mask of the American Film Institute's #1 villain. Be careful, he bites.

5. The Mask – Remember this Jim Carrey movie from the '90s that was based off a comic book series? A man finds the Mask of Loki that turns him into The Mask, a magical trickster uninhibited by anything, including physical reality. Oh wait, Russell Westbrook is already uninhibited by physical reality. How else can you explain him returning from knee surgery after four days when he was originally supposed to be out four to six weeks?

4. MF DOOM – Doom is a hip hop artist known for his super villain stage persona. The real question would be if Westbrook as Doom could demolish the opposing team as well as the beats in the arena?

3. Maximus Decimus Meridius –The Gladiator himself. “What we do in life echoes in eternity." **cough** All-Star MVP **cough**

2. Optimus Prime – Let's be honest, if there really were transforming alien robots, Russell Westbrook would be the leader of said transforming alien robots.

1. Unicorn – If you put Russell Westbrook on the free throw line with this unicorn mask on, he'd still make 100% of his free throws. He's pretty much a mystical beast.

Parks and Recreation excitedly gathered around a laptop at a table in an office setting.

The library. Club lib. The place every college student goes when they want to try and be a productive member of society. Who better to explain your experience than Parks and Rec?

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
