Why Fall Is The Best Season of All

Hello, Autumn. You've been missed.

Why Fall Is The Best Season of All

With cooler temperatures and warmer drinks it's time to welcome fall in with full force. In my opinion, Autumn is the best season of the entire year, and I cherish the time that it's here. Here are some reasons that Fall is the most wonderful season of all.

1. Candles.

I love candles. They rock. It seems that candles can be such a pain to burn in the summer. I mean, it's hot, you're sweaty, and it just doesn't seem appropriate to be burning candles. However, with the return of fall, and cooler crisper temperatures, it's all the more reason to burn a delicious smelling candle.

2. Fall Foliage

I love driving by and looking at all the beautiful trees and leaves changing. There is something special about this time of year. Everything looks beautiful and we should really appreciate it.

3. It's Sweater Weather

I don't know about anyone else, but in my opinion, there are just so many more clothing options for the fall season. From sweaters, to boots, to scarves, to vests, it seems as though there is a never-ending array of things to wear. It is also fun to bundle up and layer up!

4. Warm Drinks

From hot chocolate, to coffee (yes, the PSL) to apple cider, it seems fall has a variety of warm drinks to choose from that just don't cut it in the summer (because who wants to drink scalding hot hot chocolate in 100+ degree weather am I right?)

5. Cooler Temperatures

This one is honestly one of my favoritees. I love cold(er) weather to begin with, but combined with the fact that we've just endured an exhausting summer thanks to 100 degree temperatures everyday by the time fall arrives, I am always more than ready for the cool, crisp air. Plus, I love sweating on the way to class.

6. Football

Another favorite is football. The arrival of fall brings a whole season full of friends, football, and tailgating. What could be more fun than spending a day with your friends cheering on your favorite team?

7. Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is such a fun holiday that I always looks forward to. I love being able to eat until I can't eat anymore, spending time with my family, and just enjoying all that the day has to offer.

8. Pumpkins

While some think that the pumpkin craze is overrated, I am someone who looks forward to it all year long. From Pumpkin Spice lattes, pumpkin candles, to pumpkin patches, pumpkins just scream fall and are so festive.

9. The return of all your favorite shows

Another favorite of mine, is that I can finally stop waiting for all my favorite shows to resume. While not very productive, my weekdays are filled with so many more fun things to watch.

10. Baking

While it may seem a little cliche, I personally think baking is so fun. Who doesn't love a warm apple or pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving? Baking and fall just seem to go hand in hand.

11. Decorating

With the arrival of fall comes a change in decor. It is now appropriate to decorate with the hues of autumn and enjoy it while it's here. I personally love when my mom starts decorating for fall and eventually the holiday season.

Get excited, folks because the best time of the year is finally here! Sit back, relax, maybe grab some hot chocolate and enjoy this wonderful season before it's gone.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
