If MySpace Surveys Were Still Cool

We all get a little nostalgic for those bulletin surveys.

If MySpace Surveys Were Still Cool

If you were a middle schooler before 2010, it's pretty likely that you had an obsession with the bulletin surveys. You know, the ones that were titled "20 Things About Your Top 2" or "100 Random Facts About Me."

EVERYONE did them, and I'm among the guilty. So what if we took those 2005 surveys and fast-forwarded them to our 2015 selves?

About You

Favorite Color:
Why did we feel the need to tell every living person what our favorite color was? By the way, mine's black ...

Screen Name:
Sadly I've had the same username since I've had social media, so this question is kind of embarrassing.

Favorite Band:
Fall Out Boy forever.

Your Car:
What's up with this question? Truthfully anyone who used MySpace was too young to drive (I think). I wonder what my MySpace-self would have said to this.

Your Present Town:
First rule of Internet safety, don't tell strangers where you live. Good job, MySpace.

Your Crush's First Name:
I wonder how many middle school "relationships" this question has ruined.

Have You Ever

Kissed someone in the rain?
Honestly, we were all in like middle school. Most of us haven't even kissed someone yet. (Unless I'm just a giant loser ...)

Smiled for no reason?
What is this question?

Peed your pants after age eight?
Why would anyone want to publicly humiliate themselves by answering this question?

Talked to someone you don't know?
MYSPACE, c'mon! We're not supposed to talk to strangers!

Made out in a theater?
Good thing parents never figured out the whole MySpace thing, or a lot of kids would have been grounded.

Been in love?
I'm sure if I would have taken this in the appropriate time period, I would have had some super deep and pre-adolescent answer to this. But now, as an almost 21-year-old in 2015, the only true love I know is pizza.

Who was the last person to

Kiss you?
How many of us actually answered this question?

Tell you BYE?
BYE in all capital letters? Isn't that kind of intense, MySpace?

Write you a note?
It's 2015, we're texting now ...

Call your cell phone?
I don't know about anyone else, but I didn't even have a cell phone when I had MySpace.

Go with you to the movies?
I'm sure a past answer to this definitely would have been a large group of people, including whatever boy my little middle school heart was in to at the time. Now, it's just always my roommate and me. Girls' nights over everything.

Touch you?
... This is VERY promiscuous, MySpace.

Finish The Line

If i were a ...
So much leeway with this one. If I were a boy, even just for a day ...??? (Thanks, Bey.)

I wish ...
For world peace? To not be grounded? To be rich? What do MySpace users say to this?

So many people don't know that ...
*insert vaguely interesting fact about myself here*

I am ...
Hungry.

My heart is ...
What a loaded question for an Internet site full of, essentially, children. I bet we all said something like "in love" or "broken." I'm glad I came to my senses and realized that "my heart is" a very important organ.

Thank you to modmyspaces.com for keeping these epic surveys up on your site. Now I'm feeling nostalgic and am kind of missing the MySpace days.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
