21 Life Lessons by Lizzie McGuire

1. Own the uncertainty. Life is unpredictable and nobody really knows what's going to happen (you could even end up standing in for an international pop star in Rome when you go on a school field trip… it's casual).

2. There are more important things in life than a number on a scale or the size of your jeans.

3. Everyone wants to have their moment. From the Lizzie McGuires of the world to the Kates and even the Gordos.

4. Sometimes what you've been looking for has been right next to you all along. Side note: Who looks that beautiful and tranquil when they're sleeping on a plane?

5. Find the person willing to endure your adorably awkward dancing. Hold on to them!

6. Always be confident in yourself. And your outfit choices.

7. On that same note: own your hair choices and accessories too (choker necklace and all).

8. Cherish your friends because they're the ones who have your back when the whole fake international pop star thing doesn't work out. (Someone please tell me a Lizzie McGuire sequel movie is in the making…)

9. But appreciate your family too (even if they're embarrassing and awkward and sometimes dance outside on the porch for all the world to see). You're kind of stuck with them for life.

10. Stay up to date on the latest lingo. One day it may be "yolo" and the next it's "bae"; you don't want to be the dawg who doesn't know the dilly-o.

11. Enjoy life. If that means eating 10 of the cookies your mom sent you last week in one sitting so be it. Also refer to #2.

12. Ask for what you want. Also, embrace the embarrassing moments (they make for the best stories).

13. The true spirit of America.

14. Find the excitement in life (even if you can't travel halfway around the world for it). These are the years where we're the most free from any type of responsibility so we need to make the most of it.

15. And always take a chance on someone because it just may end up paying off.

16. Sometimes a good pair of flats is the best choice.

17. Don't grow up too fast. Live it up while you're young and try not to worry about the consequences. (Note: this should not be taken too seriously… self-destruction is not the intention of this article.)

18. You can always find a reason to go shopping.

19. Most importantly, if you get the chance to dance with a pop star take it!

20. And then kiss him. Just do it. Tip: Bring mistletoe and avoid security guards/taser.

21. Forget about the haters and work on just doing you. Even if Ethan Craft never did fall madly in love with Lizzie McGuire, she knew she still had it going on. In the end the most important opinion of yourself is your own!

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
