7 Reasons Why You Have To Download Friendsy RIGHT NOW

For those of you who don’t know, Friendsy is the popular up-and-coming social networking app that lets you meet college students across the country and at your own school. Designed for college students, Friendsy lets you make real connections based on similar interests and mutuality. Friendsy has already made 750,000 mutual matches among its 85,000 registered users, but if that’s not enough of a reason to download Friendsy then here are some more:

1. It’s exclusively for college students

Unlike other apps like Tinder, Friendsy is only open to college students who have a verified .edu email address. This ensures that you can make hundreds of new connections in a social networking community filled with other students just like you. And your mom can rest easy knowing there’s no 50 year old man with chest hair trying to pose as a 19 year old babe who “just wants to have fun.“

2. There are more ways to connect

Unlike Tinder, where you are limited to “swiping right” to indicate your interest, Friendsy lets you select if you want to date, hook up with, and/or befriend someone you’re interested in. This makes it easier to separate out those who are “only in it for one night” from those who have actual dating potential! Plus, you can platonically start a friendship with someone who looks like a really cool person but you are not interested in hooking up with!

3. You get alerts and hints when someone’s interested

When that special someone wants to be your friend/date/hookup, Friendsy is kind enough to let you know (anonymously, of course)! They can choose to send a hint about their identity, like their gender or class or organization/major. Nothing makes you feel more popular than opening up Friendsy and seeing a message that “A girl from the class of 2018 and Varsity Soccer wants to hook up with you!” Better still, Friendsy lets you filter out which profiles you can see so that you can limit it to girls in the class of 2018 on the varsity soccer team and you’ll have a better chance of finding that girl and getting a mutual match! It’s liking lowering the difficulty setting on Tinder.

4. Friendsy is both local and global

Friendsy gives you the opportunity to connect with the thousands of students at your school who are outside your social network and make real connections with them. However, you can also use the “global” feature to meet college students across the country. Ever wondered what social life is like at University of Florida? Or what it’s like to go to Harvard? Strike up a conversation with someone who goes there! It’s a quick, easy way to make connections with people you never could have before.

5. The ChitChat Tab

This feature of the app randomly pairs you up with either another student from your school or a student from across the country! While chatting, your identity remains anonymous unless you both decide to reveal your profiles and connect. You can let your personality run wild without having to worry about judgment, and if you both like what you see, you can start a real connection!

6. The Compliments Feed

On Friendsy, you can send and receive anonymous compliments for that extra special confidence boost. Unlike Yik Yak, these compliments are monitored by the Friendsy team to make sure no hate gets through. On the Compliments Feed, you can scroll through and see what people are saying about all your friends!

7. Global ChatRooms

You can join any of Friendsy’s chat rooms to anonymously talk with hundreds of other college students about a range of topics. Some are restricted to only students at your school, whereas others are open to any college students on Friendsy. And if you find someone you like in the chat room, you can send them a request to reveal their identity and become friends (or maybe more)!

So if you’re reading this while in bed eating a “sharing sized” bag of Doritos by yourself in the middle of your Netflix marathon of Parks and Rec, it might just be time to download the app that’s taking college campuses by storm.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
