Reasons To Be Thankful For Your Roommate

I couldn't ask for a better one.

Reasons To Be Thankful For Your Roommate

Its been said that rooming with your best friend will break friendships. However I can confidently say that after rooming with my best friend of 16 years, our friendship has only gotten stronger. Here are reasons why you should be thankful for your roommate.

1. For getting you out of bed in the morning.

I think that we can all agree that the most effective way to get up is not the 19 alarms that were put on, but having your roommate force you to get out of bed.

2.For having breakfast dates at 7 a.m.

I don’t know many other people who would willingly wake up, three hours before they have to, just to have a breakfast date.

3.For being able to read you, when nobody else can.

Living with someone leads to them being to read your emotions, and know exactly how to handle them. This means a lot, especially since they are probably the only other person who knows exactly you're feeling.

4. For always thinking of you.

Whether its bringing you dinner, coffee, or even just a nice text, it can always turn a bad day into a good one.

5. For slapping some sense into you.

It’s always good to have someone let you know when you're not being rational, and that you're not making the right decision.

6.For letting you borrow their clothes.

Because even though you have completely different body types, their clothes always seem to fit you better than your own.

7. For going on crazy adventures.

When nobody else wants to go on an adventure, you can always count on your roommate to do something fun.

8. For having jam sessions literally anywhere.

Whether its singing actual songs or making up some weird songs, its always a fun time.

9. For always listening.

The late night talks are the best part of the day, especially after not seeing each other all day and having to catch up on everything.

10. And most importantly, for being my best friend.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
