What Your Favorite Halloween Candy Says About You

It's that time of the year again: breezy weather whipping your hair in all directions; the retirement of your worn-out Old Navy sandals; the welcoming of waffle-knit sweaters and the daily use of black leggings; visions of turkey and dressing begin dancing in your head; the countdown to Halloween! In spirit of the latter, I've done a little out-of-the-box personality analyzing and concluded what your favorite classic treat says about you. From homemade popcorn balls to the classic candy corn, the phrase "you are what you eat" applies more than you might think! Happy Halloween, y'all!

Sour Candies

Do Sour Patch Kids, straws, and other gummies have you feelin' some type of way? Deep down you're most likely a risk taker. You strive to live life in the moment without fear of the future. You have a bubbly personality, and when you start laughing, there is just no stopping you.

Popcorn Balls

Does your mouth immediately water at the thought of homemade popcorn balls? You probably have a strong connection with fall in regard to family traditions and fond memories. You have been a fan of autumn for as long as you can remember. I bet you're already planning a date beside the fireplace with some hot apple cider—am I right?

Reese's Cups/Hershey Bars/ANYTHING Chocolate

If you'd rather stick to the chocolate family, there's a good chance that you like to stay on the safe side. You're most likely that person who realizes that they haven't bought any Halloween candy on October 30th ... but that's okay! You tend to stick to things you're familiar with because making choices is a difficult task most of the time.

Candy Corn

You are basically #twinning with the popcorn fans. You can't beat a classic, right? The only downfall you might encounter is leaving the past behind you and focusing on the present and future. It's okay to be nostalgic...just make sure that you can snap back to reality from time to time.

Skittles & Starburst

You're naturally happy. You are one of those people who have a contagious smile that can brighten anyone's day. Halloween is alright, but what you absolutely love is Thanksgiving! Stay on the happy side of life and continue keeping that holiday spirit this season.

Jellybeans

You try to keep an open mind when confronted with the unfamiliar. When you are faced with a choice between something traditional and something a tad risky, you figure that as long as it isn't doing any damage to you or someone you know, the risk is the way to go.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
