20 Reasons We All Want to be Jessa

We're all a bunch of Hannah's, Marnie's and there's always the occasional Shosh's. But deep inside all of us, there's a Jessa.

20 Reasons We All Want to be Jessa

Even if you live under a rock (I'm sure those all have wifi now), then you've heard of HBO's GIRLS. For those of you without a wifi connection underneath those little rocks, it's a show about four friends out of college trying to survive the transition into adulthood in New York City.

It doesn't sound like anything, but it is EVERYTHING. Creator/writer/producer/actress Lena Dunham has given us an unbelievable group of friends to vicariously live our lives through the past four seasons.

There's Hannah, who is subtly the most vein person on the Earth; there's Marnie, who is a perfectionist struggling to keep it all together; there's little Shoshanna, a doe-eyed confused college grad whose peppiness is enough for a thousand people. Last but definitely not least, there's Jessa.

Jessa is the whimsical free spirit who does not give the slightest sh*t about anything. She says whatever she wants, does whatever she wants, and has some vague European accent we all wish we had. Not to mention she's a walking Anthropology advertisement.

1. She does not listen to anyone's rules, so don't even bother with her.

2. She digs deeps and asks the real questions you're afraid to hear.

3. She does things on her own time, all the time. The place doesn't matter.

4. She knows that every mistake makes for a great tale, so you really can't be ashamed of anything.

5. She's honest about her feelings on dating...

6. ... And blatantly honest about everything else.

7. She's always there to encourage her friends to calm the hell down about life. Seriously, Hannah, relax.

8. She's way too cool for your stupid social media.

9. You actually do. Not. Mess. With. Jessa.

10. She understands that jobs are the worst thing to happen to a 20-something.

11. She's independent as hell.

12. Jessa parties pretty frickin' hard. Be thankful we don't go to college with her.

13. She will be that friend to take your phone and text the guy you're too afraid of. Cause Jessa doesn't give a damn.

14. She's not afraid to be vulnerable sometimes.

15. She's always by her friends' side.

16. She knows that she's doing a favor to any man she gives the priveldge of dating.

17. She'll call you out on your stupid clothing choices. Because she's probably dressed better than you.

18. She can put on a happy face... but only when she has to.

19. If you make her angry, she will let you know immediately.

20. She is queen. The most fabulous of them all.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
