Best Kept Secret

Best Kept Secret is an Emo/Alternative band from North Hollywood, California. They will be on the entire tour! Be sure to thank them for an amazing line up!

Q: How would you describe your stage performances?

A: Our stage performance is about to adapt/change drastically for this next tour while keeping familiar elements that we introduced on our fall tour. Fans can expect a high energy set full of the angstyness found at a punk show mixed with the dance/party vibe found in the edm/hip hop scene. Basically it's just a high energy in your face dance party where mashing and crowd surfing is highly encouraged.

Q: What do you like most about playing shows and touring?

Matt: My favorite part about touring is getting to see a lot of places that I know I wouldn't have seen if it wasn't for touring, also getting to make new friends and see friends that were made from that tour. It's weird, when you're on tour it kind of feels like a dream, and you're never 100 percent sure if anything that happened, actually happened. As weird as it sounds, it's the greatest feeling in the world.

Benji: The best part about touring is that it takes the emotion and excitement of the music and makes it a tangible, physical thing. It's a really uniquely amazing feeling to be able to go up there and perform your songs the way they were meant to be heard. Not to mention, the interactions you get to have with the fans are always amazing. It will forever blow my mind that there are people out there who actually give enough of a shit what we're doing to show up and support us. It's a great feeling.

Brady: The energy and passion that comes out of other people during live shows. I don't think it ever comes out at any other time. It's so powerful.

Jon: My favorite part of touring is the feeling of taking something we created in such a small room out for the world to see and suddenly something that seemed so small breathes life and impacts people that are just like us. Getting to meet everyone and being told stories about how our music helped them is the most rewarding feeling I've ever felt. Sharing a passion for music with your close friends is one thing, but a completely different animal when it's with people from all over the country. Making friends is one of the perks of this job and it wouldn't happen without touring. Can't wait to get back out there!

An Honest Year

An Honest Year is a Pop/Rock band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. You can catch them on the entire tour!

Q: How would you describe your stage performances?

A: We are generally really interactive with the crowd. We really feed off of the energy that they respond with. Everyone likes to move around a lot and mess around with each other on stage. I think that chemistry really responds well with fans.

Q: What do you like most about playing shows and touring?

Matt: I love doing what we love, playing music and getting to meet everyone.

Stephan: Traveling in general is a really fun experience. Add in the fact that we get to play music on the road amongst that experience makes every tour memorable.

Jon: These fans have become our friends and it's a really fun time seeing these people again who have supported us for so long.

Jordan: Seeing the music we write translate live is always a really cool experience. Having people sing those words back to us is a really surreal moment.

Greg: I love waking up in one state, playing a show in another, and then falling asleep in a third.

Take A Breath

Take A Breath is a Pop/Rock/Alternative band from Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. You can catch them on the entire tour!

Q: How would your describe your stage performances?

A: Our live show is energetic. We love connecting with people and coming out and creating an atmosphere for people to have a great time, and really get into the show. We love playing shows at home to 200+ kids as much as we love playing to 10, in a certain way. I love playing shows and having people come up to me after who have never heard us and tell me that we've swayed them into being a fan. That's the best feeling, and that comes from how much we put into our live show. We try to make every show a bit unique and an experience for the people who are there to watch.

Q: What do you like most about playing shows and touring?

Jesse: Touring is one of my favorite things in the world. I love playing shows and to get to go other places and have people who want to come watch us is humbling, even at the small level were at. I never really feel at home staying in the same place too long, and I love to travel. Getting to make so many incredible friends and having so many insane experiences from just a short touring history makes me realize how lucky I am that I have the opportunity to do this. I want to tour forever.

Ryan: I love meeting new people and seeing new and extraordinary places. Traveling on the road is so eye-opening and truly one of the greatest experiences I've ever had. It can be stressful at times but hearing everyone scream the lyrics of our songs back at us no matter how far we go from home is what makes it worth it.

Luke: Touring is a freeing feeling. I'm a huge fan of traveling and I love seeing different places even if it's only for a short period of time. I feel quite at home in a van which is nice. As far as playing shows goes, it's what got me addicted music. The feeling of being on a stage is unlike anything I've ever experienced. It's the only time I feel 100 percent at peace.

Mike: It's just surreal to see so much of the country and meet so many new people. I'm grateful that fans support us enough to give us these types of opportunities. Just all around great times with great friends.

This Is All Now

This Is All Now is a Pop/Rock band from Long Island, New York! You can catch them on the entire tour!

Q: How would you describe your stage performances?

A: Describing the stage presence of This Is All Now is like controlled chaos. Okan, Caleb, and I(Louie) are very energetic on stage. We're always in sync jumping around, and moving around on stage throughout the performance. Controlled chaos is a perfect description because no matter how crazy we get, we still maintain a fluidity without bumping into each other.

Q: What do you like most about playing shows and touring?

Louie: The best part about playing shows with This Is All Now is being able to connect with the audience. While on tours that stop in every piece of the country, we get to meet and connect to each audience member through our music. Even if we're performing somewhere with a language barrier, or age gap, the music connects us. It's rewarding, and one of my favorite parts of being a touring musician.

Okan: Playing shows is like a high that you can't get enough of, the 30 or so minutes that you get on stage is a worry free zone that eliminates all stress and puts me in a zen state unlike any other. At that point nothing matters, and I hope when people go to concerts they feel the same way! Essentially that's the goal. Touring itself
Is the best, being cooped up with your absolute best friends and brothers for a while isn't a bad thing at all, until one eats White Castle, then you're all f***ed. We do things that many people dream of doing, and for that were so grateful, long live music!

Mike: I'd have to say my absolute favorite thing about playing shows is the crowds response to your music, especially when they sing along and know every single word to the music you worked so hard on. Touring is something special in the sense that you traveling all over the country trying new food seeing different lifestyles and are constantly meeting new people, new bands and making new friends.

Caleb: I have many favorite parts about touring and playing shows. I love to travel and see new places I've never seen before. I love meeting new people and hearing their story about there personal lives. While doing all of this I get to be with my best friends seeing the country. But my most favorite thing is getting that "high" while we perform. I get to leave all my stresses and worries while I'm on that stage. The feeling is indescribable.

We Are Forever

We Are Forever is a Pop/Rock band from Indianapolis, Indiana. You can catch them on the tour from April 30th-May 8th!

Q: How would you describe your stage performances?

A: Our stage performances have high energy and a lot of fun. Everyone jumps, claps, and moshes along and goes crazy with us.

Q: What do you like most about playing shows and touring?

Aren: What I like most about touring is meeting the people that listen to our music and hearing their stories. Making new friends on the road is so much fun.

Alex N: My favorite part of playing shows is being able to do what I love with my best friends. Also the interaction between us on stage and the crowd is really something special. Aside from that I love seeing new places on tour. Traveling is one of my favorite things to do and when I get to do it while playing music and meeting new awesome people every night, makes it that much better.

Ricky: I love playing shows because I get to meet a ton of new people after shows. Touring is amazing because I'm able to eat in different states.

Alex A: My favorite part about touring is seeing all the beautiful cities, meeting new people and hearing everyones stories about their lives. I love playing shows because of the energy the fans give us and how amazing it feels. I love knowing we're the reason people are having fun and making them happy. I enjoy making people happy.

Kickbox

Kickbox is an Alternative band from Downers Grove, Illinois. You can catch them on tour from April 23 to April 29!

Q: How would you describe your stage performance?

A: Our stage performance is really passionate and emotional.

Q: What do you like most about playing shows and touring?

Trevor: My favorite thing about playing shows is seeing people absorbing our music. Really focusing on what we're trying to put across. Sometimes it's energy, sometimes it's sadness, other times it's anger. Regardless of what it is, you can see the audience appropriately reacting which is awesome. Even if they don't know how to act, that's still a reaction. We try to be a band that's not forgettable or stale for every song. We want to throw some stuff at the audience that might be hard to digest, but at the end of it you leave feeling a certain indescribable way. Hopefully we can continue to do this with the new record coming out.

Alex: What I like most about touring is the fact that I get to travel and see all these cool places I never seen before. I really enjoy playing shows with my bandmates and it's honestly one of best experiences of my life to go out and play shows where no one knows who we are. I think that's super cool.

Joey: What I mostly like about playing shows is the energy I get from the audience and fans, it's just a great feeling seeing people enjoy the music we play. Touring is amazing because of all the new people we meet and new things we see, it's also great spending time on the road with your best friends playing music.

Beneath The Spin Light

Beneath The Spin Light is a Pop/Punk band from Camano Island, Washington. You can catch them on the tour from May 9th-May 15th!

Q: How would you describe your stage performances?

A: If All Time Low had a baby with Beartooth...you'd have us.. We're pretty energetic and crazy. We are fun, quirky, and very in tune with the crowd and making sure everyone is having the best of times.

Q: What do you like most about playing shows and touring?

Sullivan: My favorite thing about playing shows and touring is the energy. Everyone that is there is there for the music. It's a beautiful thing to be in a room full of people who are all there for the same reason. Concerts to me are a place of safety and a place where you can be yourself and escape from the world. Touring is always awesome because you can be with your best friends everyday and meet new people along the way.

Kalevi: My favorite part of shows and touring is being able to meet all the amazing people who support our dream. There's nothing like it.

Kyle: My favorite thing about playing shows is the thrill of being on stage. I love playing music in front of people! There is no better feeling in the world. My favorite part of touring is that I get to spend a week or two away from my ordinary life with three of my best friends! There are a lot of bands out there with members that can't stand eachother. Our band is not like that at all! It makes touring so much easier when you're doing it with people you like.

Gus: Being on tour and playing the music that I love, is my dream. I never want to wake up.

RVLS

RVLS is a Alternative/Pop band from Los Angeles, California. You can catch them on the tour from May 10th-May 14th!

Q: How would you describe your stage performances?

A: Our live performances are as energetic and insane as you could think. From flips and guitar spins, to strong vocals, it puts on a show most people don't expect. We all make sure that you don't leave during our set, ever. You came to watch a show, we came to entertain.

Q: What do you like most about playing shows and touring?

Kalie: Personally the best part about shows and touring is getting to meet people, getting to wake up in different places, and getting to do what I love every single night. Performing is in my blood, I need it to thrive, to breathe, to live. I couldn't imagine ever going back to the simple life of waking up everyday to a job I hate. This is me. Performing is me.

Micket: I enjoy being in front of the crowd and doing something I really truly care about.

Justin: Escaping the mundanity of real life and meeting so many new and cool people.

Sebastian: The best thing about tour is the freedom you have. You get to explore new things, meet new people, play and do what you love. You get to share what you love with others. When I'm on the road it feels like nothing else matters but, you are doing what you love. I find happiness in it.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
