17 Signs You Went To MASC Stuco Camp

Missouri Association of Student Councils hosts a weeklong leadership camp each summer. You're divided into groups and you work together to brainstorm, hold discussions, and play a game or two. Chances are, it looked cool on paper, so you signed up. But once you arrived, you were changed forever. Whether you went once, twice, or five years in a row, you know that there's nothing quite like the magic of Fulton, Missouri.

1. You know exactly where Fulton is.

2. You have tons of gear with MASC and "GUSTO" on it.

3. You met your council and immediately knew you were going to be the best of friends.

4. And you probably played a name game, or three, to get to know each other.

5. The MASC games brought out your competitive side.

6. And the carnival with the kids made the week even more worthwhile.

7. Your JC was the coolest person in the world.

8. Tiny Bubbles still gives you the feels.

9. And you'll never forget Marty's speech about patriotism and chivalry.

10. Council chants were crazy competitive, and you know how to form every letter of the alphabet with your hands.

11. JC Gifts left an impact on you and inspired you.

12. The candlelit ceremony holds a special place in your heart.

13. You know what gusto means.

14. There was nothing like the extra hours your council decided to spend together, even if all of you were deprived of sleep. You talked about anything and everything, even though you'd just met.

15. You've got a thing for ducks.

16. No one can dance like MASC kids can.

17. The magic of Fulton is real, and you'll never forget it.

Dedicated to my Council I of 2012 and Council S of 2013.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
