'Santa Baby' By A College Girl

So maybe Eartha Kitt (the original singer of 'Santa Baby') had other intentions for the song, but both versions share the same fun and games. None the less, if Eartha lived in today's college age I'm sure she'd share some of the same ideas of boy struggles, little searching, and empty wallets.

Santa baby, just slip some money under the tree for me;

I need some gifts for the fam-ily, Santa Baby,

So hurry down the chimney tonight.

Santa baby, an extra small university tee, maybe three

It’s for my future Littles and me, Santa Baby,

So hurry down the chimney tonight.

Think of all the frat parties I’ve missed,

Think of all the pledges that I haven’t kissed,

Next semester I could be as jolly as you,

If you check off my bucket list.

Santa baby, I really need some time to unwind, you see

My credit card keeps reading declined, Santa baby,

So hurry down the chimney tonight.

Santa honey, a small favor is all I that I crave,

The grades ... to boost my low GPA, Santa baby,

So hurry down the chimney tonight.

Santa cutie, fill my stocking with some hot glue and tape,

My bar shoes have seen better days, Santa baby,

So hurry down the chimney tonight.

Take a shot of Peppermint Schnapps,

With some chocolate syrup, no, honey, it's not on the rocks.

I really do believe you see,

Just the fun girl I can really be.

Santa baby, forgot to mention one more little fav

Tell that boy to step up to the plate,

And ask me on an actual date.

So hurry down the chimney tonight.

Hurry down the chimney tonight,

Like really, though.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
