20 Gifts All College Students Want For The Holidays

With the holidays around the corner, us college students need to start thinking about gifts we would like from our relatives! Here are 20 awesome gifts all college students want for the holidays!

1. Food- Your snack selection at school running low? Perfect opportunity to get some more Mac and Cheese cups and Oreos!

2. Money- We're college students, we are broke. We spend money on almost anything and everything! A couple extra $20s wouldn't hurt!

3. New Laptop- Instead of using your 4yr old Dell laptop, upgrade to a Mac or HP!

4. Netflix- Netflix is great for lazy Sundays, or any other day. Perfect for binge watching new shows and procrastinating!

5. Apple TV- On top of the awesome selection on Netflix, an Apple TV gives an even wider range of movies and shows to watch!

6. New Wardrobe- From sweats to going out clothes, there's always room in our closets for more clothes!

7. Speakers- You need pumping speakers to blast tunes around the dorm room or apartment before nights out.

8. Hands Free Segway- Who doesn't want to ride around campus in one of these!

9. Huge Beanbag- "A second bed" in the common room or another place to crash after a long day.

10. Beer Pong Table- It's college, things happen.

11. Cards Against Humanity- The inappropriate version of Apples to Apples is always a great game to play with friends at college.

12. Mattress Pad- College mattresses are filled with springs and super uncomfortable. A mattress pad can make those sleepless nights go away!

13. Portable Phone Charger- When your phone is constantly dying while you're out or in class, a portable phone charger will come in handy.

14. Dunkin Donuts Gift Cards- "Everybody runs on Dunkin!" This is very true. We need Dunkin and don't want to spend our own money on Dunkin so gift cards are perfect!

15. Keurig- Almost every college student lives off coffee. A Keurig would save one a trip to the dining hall or library to get a cup of coffee!

16. Personal Chef- When the dining hall food just isn't calling your name, having a personal chef who can whip up anything your heart desires!

17. A Maid- Cleaning your room Is such hassle, a maid can do all our choruses while we "study".

18. Clean Shower- No more hair clogging the drain! We need a clean space to shower and sing our tunes in peace.

19. Summer- All we need right about now is for school to be out and to get summer back; we're sick of this school thing already!

20. Better Grades- The phase "C's get degrees" cant actually happen because our parents would kill us, so please lets pray for better grades!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs.
