Popular Fashion Trends Of Summer 2015

Whether it's just going to the beach or going out with friends, you always want to look your best. The popular fashion trends of summer 2015 are bold and fun, and as always, reflect fashion from the past. Want to follow the trends but don't want to break into your summer savings? There are plenty of similar and less expensive alternatives to these statement pieces! All of your favorite stores are most likely up-to-date with the trends, so you should be able to find the following styles there!

Ripped Boyfriend Jeans

Don't let the name "Boyfriend Jeans" fool you, these have become an essential item in the college girl's wardrobe. These perfect pants can be paired with sandals and a plain tee, heels and a crop top, and even a sweater and ankle booties. They are also extremely popular in white. The pair I own are from American Eagle, were reasonably priced and I have gotten great use out of them. You can also find them at Urban Outfitters, Express, Free People, and more.

Round Sunglasses

In the last few months, these have become crazy popular, especially the Illesteva brand sunglasses. These funky shaped glasses can be found in many different combinations of lens and frame colors, and they have become especially popular with college students. Although some of these name brand glasses can be extremely pricey, and if you're not willing to drop $200 on a pair of sunglasses that will probably go out of style soon, there are many websites you can buy similar looking glasses for a small percentage of the price. I was able to buy two different colored pairs from aliexpress.com for $5 total.

Overalls

Yes, overalls are back in style! This item has continued to make appearances throughout the years, and has made its way back to being a popular item this summer. However, the original long pant overalls have been replaced by shorts, and can be paired with a simple tee and converse.

Two-Piece Outfit Sets

I noticed these start to become popular as many girls wore them to sorority events, and have watched as they continue to gain popularity this summer. This item is essentially a dress that is split into two pieces to resemble a crop top and shorts/skirts. The more pricey sets are from NastyGal and Top Shop, but less pricey, similar versions can be found at Forever21 and even Amazon.com

Flowy Shorts

These are a complete MUST-HAVE this summer! They are an essential to any wardrobe. These can be worn over your bathing suit to the pool, or can be paired with a solid top, and be worn to go out and look dressier. These come in all different styles, such as crochet and lace, and some even have pom-poms to add that extra flare. These can be found pretty much anywhere this season, but the ones I own are from Francesca's Collection. You can find them for cheaper prices at Forever 21 and Brandy Melville, and more pricey at stores like Urban Outfitters.

Loose pants with tight ankle.

Evidently these pants are called something different at every store (like joggers), but can be recognized by the looser fitting upper leg with the tighter ankle. Although the wide-leg palazzo pants that were all the rage last summer continue to be popular this year, the patterned tight ankle pants have become a big hit as well. These can also be dressed up or dressed down. To dress them up, you can add a pair of wedges and a tight top, and to dress them down pair them with sandals and a white tee. The pants I'm wearing in the picture are from a small boutique, but similar ones can be found at Forever 21, Urban Outfitters, and other stores like those.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
