11 Thoughts Every Christmas Shopper Has

Do you, too, feel the pain?

11 Thoughts Every Christmas Shopper Has

Does anyone ACTUALLY enjoy Christmas shopping? I've begun to notice that the older you get, the more Christmas shopping becomes irritating and well, quite painful.

1. What am I buying?

This is one haunting question and it only drives you more insane when you can't find an answer.

2. Why is it so hot in this store?

The outside forecast calls for snow and zero-degree weather. So naturally, you wear your warmest clothes and parka. Worst decision of your life. The malls always seem to be uncomfortable and unbearably hot.

3. Where do I park?

Finding parking at the mall takes just as long as figuring out what to buy your loved ones.

4. Will these people get out of my way already?

As you're trying to find parking, the thought that there must be a lot of people at the mall crosses your mind, but it isn't until you walk inside that you truly realize how many people are there. You can't seem walk from store to store without bumping into at least five people.

5. What do you mean it's sold out?

You finally find what you believe to be is the perfect gift for your loved one, but guess what? It's either sold out or they no longer have it in the size you need. Tough luck.

6. Can I buy this online?

You leave the store pretty bummed that you couldn't purchase the gift, but you're relieved to know you could easily order it online. You find it, you add it to your cart, you enter your billing and shipping information and it reads, "WILL ARRIVE ON JANUARY 12." Worst. Moment. Ever.

7. Why isn't this line moving?

Back in the mall, you resume your shopping. You find a couple of things and feel accomplished. You then make your way to the register and to no surprise, the line is out the door.

8. Why am I so annoyed?

Shopping under these awful circumstances just makes you an overall crabby person and sometimes even hangry (angry + hungry).

9. Why are there this many people in line for the bathroom?

Even the bathroom lines are long. What do you do when you really really really have to go pee? Your only option: hold it in.

10. Why don't I have more presents under the tree?

Have you started to notice that the amount of gifts you received as a child is nowhere near the amount you get today? Yeah, me too and boy, let me tell you, it is quite the bummer.

11. Do I have to do this again next year?

And guess what? You have to do it all over again next year! You remain hopeful that next year will be different. You think, "I'll start the shopping process sooner and finish a little after Thanksgiving." May the odds be ever in your favor.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
