When You're Actually A Crazy Horse Girl

Yeah I used to want to be a jockey when I grew up...

When You're Actually A Crazy Horse Girl

Horses man, just horses.

And there's one in every school-not an actual horse mind you-but a horse-girl. A crazy horse girl. A crazy horse girl who is psycho athletic, has super long hair in braids with bows, and is definitely judging hard on everyone who doesn't share her affinity for that four legged paradigm the equine.

I don't deny it, I'm one of them. I'm throughly obsessed with horses and couldn't tell you how it started because tracing my disease backwards would probably lead me to the conclusion that I was predetermined genetically to fall susceptible. My parents became engaged in a horse and buggy in Central Park, if that's not destiny then I don't know what is.

My memories of grammar school consist of me jumping over orange traffic cones and whinnying in the playground at boys because why communicate in any other way. Notebooks were covered in swirly twirly Pegasus's and pens found themselves arranged in corral formation. In fourth grade science class I debated with my teacher about how horses went to heaven because they 100% have souls and I legitimately judged other human beings based on their lack affinity for horse culture. I think I even bullied my best friend for not being obsessed with the movies Spirit and Seabiscuit.

So what's the deal with horse girls? Are they absolutely insane? Obsessive? Manic? Weird? More importantly...am I weird? Am I insane?!

For some reason horses are wildly addicting. Imagine the night before Christmas when all through the house instead of visions of sugar plums dancing through your head, picture a million ponies galloping about with tails flying high and that's a little horse girls' paradise.

In all reality, horse girls aren't all that strange. OKAY, maybe I'm milking it. However, horses require a lot of responsibility and you kind of have to be obsessed in order to stick with it. Horses are enormous animals that may remind some people of modern day dragons. They need a considerable amount of maintenance both in physique and psyche, sap up time and energy, may cause you bodily harm when they buck you off, and the list goes on and on.

It takes a plucky little chick to stick with it.

College is filled with many things, and we're so often lectured to make the right decisions as we head out on our own into the college life. But sometimes it's necessary to indulge in some guilty pleasures as well as just doing things because you can. And honestly, a lot of the time it's inevitable. College is no piece of cake that's for sure, so it's okay to do some things you deep down know you shouldn't....once in a while anyways.

A Deep Dive Into Taylor Swift’s Albums: 1989 (Taylor’s Version) Edition
Edited by Hailey Hastings

I am fully emersed into diving deep into every single Taylor Swift album, which I do on my own all the time, but wanted to do it in a way where I am sharing what a special discography she has. I feel like 1989 is the perfect place to start, it's an era that changed everything, and will always be an album people automatically think of when you say "Taylor Swift."
