There are many beautiful things in life: the smell of freshly cut grass, setting up the Christmas tree, hugging a loved one after a long time away from each another. However, I think one of the most beautiful parts of life is chicken fingers. Even if chicken fingers are bad, they’re still good; I think everyone can use that kind of positivity and reliability in our lives. So, here is a ranking of what I believe to be the best chicken fingers in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
5. Outtakes
Ahhh, Outtakes; the greatest part about living in the dorms. Not only is it open until 3 a.m. on the weekdays so you can stuff your face with pizza after a long-night of penny pitchers, but you’re welcomed with a glowing smile and welcoming hello from the one and only Robin. The chicken fingers from Outtakes are marginal, however it is so convenient sometimes it's too hard to pass up. We can’t always eat gourmet, so sometimes you have to suck it up and get your chicken finger fix from Outtakes. There are worse things that can happen. Like I said, even when chicken fingers are bad, they’re still good.

4. Popeye’s
A Louisiana favorite. Popeye’s chicken fingers are crunchy, spicy, and delicious; everything you could ever ask for in life, or a chicken finger. Popeye’s chicken fingers don’t only come with fries but also a biscuit, so that is a huge plus. For all of you non-chicken finger lovers out there, Popeye’s offers other delicious Louisiana favorites such as red beans and rice and shrimp po’boys.
3. Chick Fil A
Chicken nuggets from Chick Fil A are not just chicken; they are delicious golden pods of perfection. The only downside of Chick Fil A is that it is closed on Sunday, and we all crave Chick Fil A the most on Sundays. But absence only makes the heart grow fonder, and makes waking up on Mondays just a little bit brighter knowing we have a whole six full days of nuggets ahead of us. Chick Fil A is a classic not only in Baton Rouge but in every city in which it's located.
2. Plucker’s
Although Plucker’s chicken wings are not technically chicken fingers, they are so delicious they deserve a spot on this list. The most dangerous thing about Plucker’s is it that it is only .3 miles away from Tigerland; I know this because I have looked it up on Google Maps to see if it was within walking distance from The House. Girls gotta do what a girl’s gotta do. After a long night at the bar, the glowing “Plucker’s” sign is a sign that you’ve made it out alive and to the promise land; you can now reward yourself for this feat with chicken wings.
1. Raising Cane’s
The tried and true. Cane’s is an LSU tradition and, in my opinion, the best chicken fingers in Baton Rouge. The original Cane’s location is located right outside of campus, which is just a little too convenient if you ask me. After a long game day filled with tailgating and cheering on the Tigers, one bite into a juicy, Cane’s-sauce-covered chicken finger is all you need to bring you back to life and ready to take on whatever post-game activities may come your way. The booths in Raising Cane's are even tiger striped, seaux LSU.Blessed to live in the fried food capital of the United States.
