Remember when you used to jump out of bed in the morning, so excited to get to school, see your friends, and learn? You didn't need coffee to wake you up and your Powerpuff Girls alarm clock only needed to go off one time to get you out of bed. Somewhere along the way, you got burnt out. After about 14 years of school, it's understandable that you lost some motivation. Here's how to get it back just in time for the fall semester.

Accomplish at least a few of your summer goals.

You started off the summer great and set some summer goals. You probably said something like, "I'm going to read at least one book a week, catch up on my Netflix queue, go to the beach all the time, hang out with all my friends, travel, play guitar, finally start writing a book, and maybe redecorate my room." But when August rolled around and you've read just two books, and you're only halfway through "Pretty Little Liars," so your friends have to watch the current season without you, and you're not even in the beginning stages of writing your book, it's time to make a change. You still have some time before summer ends. If you finish a few of your main summer goals, it will make you feel more empowered to start the school year strong.

Pick up some new school supplies.

Buy some freshly-sharpened pencils you'll never use, blue, black and red pens you'll always lose, and array of folders from which to choose.

Back-to-school trips to Staples are rivaled only by Black Friday deals and holiday shopping. No, you probably don't need a three-ring binder for every class, and you already have pens somewhere in the depths of your desk drawer, but a new set of highlighters couldn't hurt.

Update your planner.

Whether it’s clearing out your old planner or getting a brand new one, an updated planner will make your life so much easier once classes start. As you outline your college schedule, you'll see how much fun stuff you have to look forward to, and you'll probably get more excited to go back to school.

Unless you have an 8 A.M.

Don't ever take an 8 A.M.

Make a Pinterest board of all your dorm decoration ideas.

Nothing says #inspo quite like a Pinterest board. Maybe you're moving into your first dorm, or you've upgraded to an apartment. Making a Pinterest board of all your decor ideas will kickstart your plan for the perfect living space in the fall.

Make a motivational playlist.

Said playlist must include “Fight Song” by Rachel Platten. Dance to motivational playlist daily.

New year, new you.

Clean out your closet, and only pack up what you'll really wear. Find new ways to mix and match clothes to make more outfits. Have someone help you; a friend may see potential in something that you’ve put in the "no-go" pile.

*Outfit montage may occur.

Your revamped wardrobe will put a spring in your step for the fall.

Watch "Parks and Recreation."

Leslie Knope is the epitome of motivation. Her color-coded binders, enthusiasm, and work ethic will inspire you to emulate her in every aspect of your life. If not, you've watched a hilarious show and had some laughs along the way.

After an entire summer without school, going back can seem daunting. Follow these tips and you may still need your morning cup of coffee, but you'll be motivated to go back to school.

What are you most excited about for the fall semester?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
