They say you don't really know someone until you live with them...
Freshman roommates - some met on Facebook, some were hometown friends, and some were paired together randomly by their school's personality test. No matter how you found your way to each other, you did. And on that first day, we were all hoping we wouldn't walk in and find that we would be sharing a room with a complete weirdo for the next 10 months. Whether you ended up as best friends or just learned how to live with someone very different than yourself, you exited freshman year much wiser than you entered it.
So to those who we spent our first year with-- thank you, for many different things:
1. For being my dining hall buddy, so I didn't have to eat alone.
2. For encouraging me to do my laundry, even when I really didn't want to.
3. For the nights you made me go out, even when I really didn't want to.
4. For the nights you made me stay in, even though I really wanted to go out.
5. For missing me when I left for break first.
6. For being my sound judgment when I clearly didn't have any.
7. For stalking all my high school friends on Facebook (so you knew who I was talking about when I told you a story).
8. For making our room a 'no judgement zone'.. so I could eat and online shop as much as I wanted and there would be no questions asked.
9. For going to games together... and showing some serious school spirit.
10. For forcing me to go to the gym.
11. For wishing me "good luck" before a big test or presentation.
12. For knowing what I always order at Starbucks.
13. For saying, "Awww, so cute!" when I showed you the same picture of my dog twelve times.
14. For all the inside jokes that I'll probably remember forever.
15. For all the times you reminded me that 'boys are stupid' and 'make no sense.'
16. For being my mom-away-from-mom and taking care of me whenever I was sick.
17. For making future roomie plans.
18. For lovingly-lying and trying to make me feel better by saying, "I would have done the same thing," when I clearly made a huge mistake and no one would have ever done what I did.
19. For always being there whenever I needed help or advice.
20. For being the best second family a girl could ask for.
