12 Reasons Why Adele Is Best Friend Material
Barking & Dagenham Post

There's no doubt that Adele is one of the hottest topics of 2015. After going on a hiatus, she's back and better than ever and the entire world can't keep quiet about how incredible she is. She's plastered all over every magazine, her name is in every headline, and the fan-girling is way too real. Through all of the media attention Adele has still managed to stay true to the sassy, independent personality that she has always embraced. Not only is she a kick-ass role model, but she's totally someone who we all wish that we were friends with. Here's why Adele basically embodies our goals in every way (honestly, we can't even deny it anymore).

1. She slays the music game (duh)

Unless you live under a rock (I see you Patrick Star) you'll know that she's breaking records left and right with her "Hello" music video and her new album "25." Best friends bring you as their plus one to fancy award shows, right?

2. Her eyeliner is always on fleek

Just look at it, the rest of her make-up, and her hair. Can I have your stylist's number please? Can you just do my wings for me?

3. She has the cutest marriage/family ever

Although she's kept her personal life on the DL, we can't help but swoon over this little bit of PDA. Oh, and how adorable her baby Angelo is. Imagine third wheeling with these two (spoiler alert, it would be awesome).

4. She's super down to earth

Adele is one of the most famous people on earth, but still manages to keep her cool and lay low. For being only 27, she really has her life together (unlike the rest of us). Maybe she could give us some pointers.

5. She's sassy AF

She won't stream any of her music on Spotify because she's a strong, independent woman who wants her well-deserved, hard-earned money!

6. She can make you feel so many things

Whether you're sobbing or vengeful (or both) Adele makes you feel all of the feelings, which is exactly what a best friend should do. Watch this clip from "When Adele Releases A New Song." Their reactions say it all: Buzzfeed gets it right, yet again.

7. She knows when to take time to herself

She took a hiatus for what felt like six million years so that she could get married, have a baby, and relax. But then she dropped a bomb entitled "Hello" and changed the game all over again. AKA, she would never bail on your BFF dinner and wine dates.

8. She doesn't cave to the pressures of society

Whether she's all dolled up or wearing no make-up at all, Adele couldn't care less what society thinks. She embraces being larger than the average Hollywood socialite and has openly stated that she would never change just to fit the "perfect" stick-thin image. You go girl.

9. She swears like a truck driver/sailor hybrid

She doesn't give a [insert expletive] what people think. Sorry, not sorry. I have a feeling that we could definitely get along.

10. You can relate to her during any stage of any relationship

Plus, you'll probably learn some valuable love lessons from her along the way. It seems as though Adele has been through a love roller coaster, so it's nice to know that we're not alone.

11. She can somehow rock all black all the time

She makes it look effortlessly flawless. She probably woke up like this. Let me raid your closet, or maybe just stare at it in awe sometime.

12. She has the coolest squad ever

Forget Taylor Swift and her gal pals. I definitely want to be best friends with this dynamic trio.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.

Moms are super heroes dressed in yesterday's clothing and they deserve an award for that.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.
