10 Thoughts While Watching The Grammy Awards

Initially, I planned on only watching the Grammys for the soul purpose of Rihanna's performance. I can't lie, part of me also hoped Kanye West would make another impromptu appearance on stage. Nevertheless, I ended up watching the entire show. Here are my scattered thoughts of a three and a half hour award show.

1. Bow Wow actually started the show like three different times.

This was insanely awkward and hard to watch. Not only did Bow Wow start the show early once, but three different times.

2. Why does it always become about Taylor, even when it's NOT about Taylor?

During Ed Sheeran's acceptance speech for "song of the year," the camera was constantly flashing on the ever so joyful Taylor Swift. I would even argue that the camera was on Taylor Swift more than Ed, which made no sense whatsoever, as he was the one accepting the award! It's.Not.Always.About.Taylor.

3. Ed Sheeran has amazing shoe game. Why didn't they show his shoes!?

If you're a shoe lover, there is no way you have not noticed. On this particular occasion, he chose to wear Nike Foamposites. But Ed has worn everything from the Jordan 3 Powder Blue to Gucci to the Air Yeezy 2 Red October sneakers.

4. Thank you Kendrick.

Formation 2.0?It was Kendrick Lamar. What more should I have really expected? Kendrick has been changing the game of music since day one. But out of every performance, Kendrick Lamar's was undeniably the most notable and rememberable performance. From the production, to the message to the flow, it was all amazing.

5. I wonder if Kendrick Lamar will receive the same amount of backlash as Beyonce.

While she owned the field during her presentation, various people claimed she used her performance to divide Americans. Others claimed she did just as Kendrick Lamar did and used her performance to draw attention to some of the issues that black America faces.

6.This doesn't sound like the Adele I remember.

While watching Adele perform, I kept trying to deny what I was hearing. There was no way that this was the Adele that I knew and loved! It turns out that there were issues with the piano mic, which caused Adele to sound off pitch and off beat. While that performance was definitely a bummer, I don't think it will hurt her image very much if at all.

7. Beyonce always slays.

Wake up. Flawless.

8.Rihanna isn't performing anymore?!

Rihanna supposedly came down with a bad case of bronchitis. It was announced just moments before the Grammys.

9. Rev Run Finally got out of the bath to attend the Grammys.

" God is love, Rev Run."

10. Beyonce is undeniably the best award presenter.

If there was an Oscar for best award presenter, it would go to Beyonce.
It goes without being said, there is no one with as angelic of a voice as Beyonce. She perfects everything that she does, always. If Beyonce messes up, is it really her or someone else?

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
