1. Christmas movies.
Whether it’s Buddy the Elf listing his favorite four main food groups of candy, candy canes, candy corn and syrup, Ralphie getting his tongue stuck to an iced pole outside, or Kevin being forgotten at his home left to deal with robbers.
2. Decorations.
The glistening tree filled with colorful lights, ornaments, and a shining star on top. The massive wreaths on doors of houses decorated in holly. The big presents with big bows on top that fill the bottom of the tree. The handmade gingerbread houses filling the empty spaces of the house.
3. Atmosphere.
The sounds of Salvation Army ringing their bell outside stores to support those in need. The warm feeling you get inside from being around your loved ones. The cozy crackling fire warming your back. The smell of the pine tree, glazed ham, and gingerbread.
4. Christmas songs.
From "Silent Night" to "The Little Drummer Boy." From "The Christmas Shoes" to "Oh Holy Night." From "Jingle Bell Rock" to "Rudolf The Red Nose Reindeer." Whether it’s blaring this music while decorating the tree, driving around looking at lights outside, or on the way to church, these songs create the Christmas spirit.
5. Birth of Jesus.
The journey and the sacrifice, that Jesus made to die for our sins and give us a world of living. Our Savior was born on this starry night in Bethlehem. He has put faith and strength into our lives, so we praise him for that. Although we are given so much on Christmas, his love is the best gift anyone can receive.
