Alright, I understand that my love of Lord of the Rings has crossed the line into obsession. I also realize that most people don't have group chats called The Fellowship and friends' names changed in their phones to Gimli Son of Gloin and Aragorn Son of Arathorn. (I'm Legolas of the Woodland Realm, obviously.) But, for those of us that live and breathe Middle Earth, and for those of us that just love Tolkien stuff the normal amount, here’s a definitive list of gifs that will greatly enhance every group chat you’re in, whether it includes elves and dwarves or not.
1. The whole fellowship.
For when this is the only way to accurately describe the epicness of your friends.
2. Merry and Pippin dancing.
For when you need to illustrate your giddiness for the weekend.
3. Sam and Frodo.
For when you can't explain your friendship love with words.
4. Loyal Aragorn.
For when you need to show your ultimate devotion.
5. I'm the tall one!
For when you're in fierce competition (and you're obviously winning).
6. Nobody likes you.
For when you're in fierce competition (and they're obviously winning). Or for when you're jealous because they're Isildur's Heir and you're not.
7. The bro hug.
For when "it's all good." (And when you want to look at attractive men.)
8. $trider.
For when you're ready for the beat to drop.
9. Clapping Hobbits.
For when a celebration is in order. (Or, alternatively: for use as a substitute for the sarcastic slow clap.)
10. Tears of Mount Doom.
For when the crying emoji doesn't even cover it.
11. It's done.
For when you finally finish your homework (or another task as difficult as destroying the ring).
12. Deal with it.
For when you need to be sassy but you realize you could never be as sassy as a gorgeous and immortal woodland elf.
13. YOLO
For literally any situation.
14. Sam's speech.
For when you need to reference the most emotional pep talk in all of cinematic history. *weeps quietly*
15. You bow to no one.
For when you realize that you're collectively so fabulous that every man in Gondor should bow to you.
Using these gifs will not only help you get your points across, but will also bless your group chat with images from the greatest movies ever made. I'd be impressed if you can use them without tearing up. Can't you hear the Shire music welling in the background?
Also, I'll just leave this here:
There may come a day when the strength of these gifs fails, but it is not this day.
