40 Things To Do Over Spring Break

Do you have plans for Spring Break, or are you maybe a little depressed that you aren't going to Mexico, Padre, or Florida with your friends this year? You don't know what you will do at home and fear that your Spring Break will be boring?

I am always looking for activities to do over break and want to do as much as possible in the week we are given. Even though I won't be on the beach with friends I still want to have fun! Spring break should be relaxing and a time to refresh, and what better way to do so than with this long list of things to do over Spring Break:

1. Relax, relax, relax.

2. Hangout with family because they miss you more than you know.

3. Catch up on sleep.

4. Sleep some more.

5. Binge watch "Fuller House".

6. Meet up with friends you haven't seen in a while.

7. Go to a spring training baseball game.

8. Have a picnic in the park and enjoy the outdoors.

9. Visit Groupon and look for local deals.

10. Road trip with friends! Go far or stay local. But still travel.

11. Work and make some money so you have some money when you go back to school.

12. Go shopping for spring clothes.

13. And while you are shopping buy some new bathing suits because summer is right around the corner.

14. Cuddle with your pets (my favorite thing to do).

15. Girls night wine and painting at your house (or go out and do it).

16. Start getting in shape for summer.

17. Take a cooking class.

18. Re-focus.

19. Try something new.

20. Go to a concert.

21. Cross something off your bucket list.

22. Go to Mall of America for the weekend.

23. De-stress!!!

24. Clean out your closet and make room for all those new clothes.

25. Have a yard sale after you clean out your closet and make some money for more new clothes.

26. Visit a winery.

27. Harry Potter marathon. Watch them all!

28. Catch up on school work. Definitely a time to get back on track.

29. Have a spa day.

30. Start a new hobby.

31. Read for FUN, yes FUN.

32. Have a themed dinner party with friends or family.

33. Get a hotel in the city and have a spontaneous night out.

34. See the newest / hottest movie at your local movie theatre.

35. Go to the Casino and win some money.

36. Visit museums or art galleries.

37. Stay in your pajamas all day or week.

38. Restock things you ran out of at school.

39. Start a blog.

40. Enjoy a break from assignments, projects, and papers.

Spring break is the best time to get away from being a student and spend a much needed week away from campus. It will go by super fast so make the best of the little time you have! Be safe and enjoy spring.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
