Things Only Pet Owners Understand

You get used to it.

Things Only Pet Owners Understand

If your childhood was at all like mine, you grew up around a lot of animals. From horseback riding lessons, to the family pets, and summer jobs bathing dogs, I have spent my life surrounded by a plethora of different species. Starting out with relatively small numbers, growing up, we went from three dogs to our current collection of six dogs and two cats, besides the fact my mom owns a very successful pet care facility back home. Through my interaction with these critters, I've come to learn a lot of important lessons.

1. The Hair

It's everywhere and there's nothing you can really do about it. If your pet has short or long hair, you probably eat it in most meals without realizing it, breathe it in and find it on every article of clothing you won. Trust me, you'll want to invest in a hair roller.

2. The Vet Bills

Our pets aren't cheap, and keeping them healthy can take a lot of money. Just a tooth extraction can bee a minimum of 300+ Dollars.

3. The Maintenance

Want to keep your furry friend looking good? Good luck with that. One day home from the groomer's and you'll realize they love to roll in anything that smells. On the bright side now they have less hair to get dirty.

4. The "Accidents"...

Oh you wanted to wear your new shoes today? Sorry I thought you wouldn't notice for at least a week. I also left you a surprise to step in when you get out of the shower by the way.

5. The Hilarity

You can always rely on that furry friend to do something outrageous that'll keep you laughing for days. Hopefully you have your camera with you when it happens.

6. The Cuteness Overload

Just at the twitch of a nose you can't help but want to cuddles with these little babies all day long. If you don't have kids, you'll practically take so many photos of your pet you become a proud parent with their first child.

7. The Affection

No matter what you go through and the events that change in your life, pets are steadfast and will love you no matter what. They can be as independent or clingy as can be, but they will always pick up when you're down.

Having a pet is one of the most fun and still aggravating parts of our lives. They make life all the more entertaining and have huge impacts on the lives they touch. A simple wagging tale of someone happy toes you can cheer up your whole day. Appreciate your pets and love them while you have them.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
