5 Other "Harry Potter" Stories I'd Love To See Written

"It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live"... but a little wishful thinking can't hurt, right?

5 Other "Harry Potter" Stories I'd Love To See Written

On Friday, J. K. Rowling announced via her Twitter that a new play entitled Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will be hitting London's West End in 2016. At the moment, not a whole lot of information is available concerning what the plot will center around. All we know right now is that the play is "not a prequel" and that it will focus on the "untold part" of Harry's story, including the story of the lives of his murdered parents.

Between Cursed Child and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them - the first in a three-film series about magizoologist Newt Scamander that will star Eddie Redmayne in the title role and is set to hit theaters next November-- Potterheads have a lot to look forward to in 2016. However, there are limitless stories and characters in the Wizarding World that are deserving of their own books, plays, or films-- here are just a few that I'd love to see!

1. The Marauders

This is an obvious one, but really, who DOESN'T want to see more of Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs' adventures during their years at Hogwarts? I feel like this would translate really well to a series of novellas. I would love to see the Marauders' adventures as Animagi, all the trouble they got into with the map and James's Invisibility Cloak, and, perhaps most of all, how a younger Minerva McGonagall dealt with Fred and George's predecessors. Bonus: young Lily Potter and young Severus Snape.

2. The Four Founders

The founding of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry would make for an epic book OR film series. I'd love to know more background on the Four Founders-- how they became friends, the origins of the four houses, what the early years at Hogwarts were like. Bonus: Rowena Ravenclaw being the original #BossWitch.

3. Grindelwald

Before Voldemort came to power, Gellert Grindelwald was rumored to be the most powerful Dark wizard the world had ever known. However, very little can be gleaned about him from the Harry Potter books, and the movies barely mention him at all. From his education at Durmstrang, to his adolescence (ft. fetus Albus Dumbledore!), to his rise to power, to his legendary duel with Dumbledore, to wasting away in Nurmengard until finally being murdered by Voldemort... Grindelwald's life would make for an epic film. Which brings us to our next idea...

4. Dumbledore

Do I really need to explain this? Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore is one of the most beloved characters in the Harry Potter universe (perhaps even in modern literature as a whole). The man led an epic existence, and all I want in this world is a mockumentary about his entire life. IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK, J. K. ROWLING???

5. Hogwarts: The Next Generation

This one is also pretty self-explanatory: a Harry Potter sequel series that follows Harry, Ron, Hermione, and crew's kids during their years at Hogwarts. Minerva McGonagall's reaction when she realized the Potter and Weasley bloodlines converged (AKA all her worst nightmares came true). Neville having to discipline all his friends' children but secretly laughing about their antics with their parents at the end of every day.

What other characters from the Wizarding World would you like to see have their own books or films?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.

From sea to shining sea, the United States was uniquely positioned for an incredible Aurora Borealis display on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024, going into Friday, Oct. 11.

It was the second time this year after an historic geomagnetic storm in May 2024. Those Northern Lights were visible in Europe and North America, just like this latest rendition.

To My Loving Boyfriend,

  • Thank you for all that you do for me
  • Thank you for working through disagreements with me
  • Thank you for always supporting me
  • I appreciate you more than words can express
  • You have helped me grow and become a better person
  • I can't wait to see where life takes us next
  • I promise to cherish every moment with you
  • Thank you for being my best friend and confidante
  • I love you and everything you do

To start off, here's something I don't say nearly enough: thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You do so much for me that I can't even put into words how much I appreciate everything you do - and have done - for me over the course of our relationship so far. While every couple has their fair share of tiffs and disagreements, thank you for getting through all of them with me and making us a better couple at the other end. With any argument, we don't just throw in the towel and say we're done, but we work towards a solution that puts us in a greater place each day. Thank you for always working with me and never giving up on us.

11 Signs You Grew Up In Hauppauge, NY

Because no one ever really leaves.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.
