13 Things To Thank His Parents For

We’ve all dated multiple people, but I have always made it a point to meet the parents of who I am dating. It not only shows where they came from, but also how they treat the other women in their lives, such as their mother, sister, and maybe even their nieces.

I remember when your son told me that he wanted me to meet you. I was scared out of my mind. I found myself asking questions like, “What do I need to wear?” “Should I hug them or shake their hands?” and, “Are they going to interrogate me?” Then, of course, there was the million dollar question: “Am I good enough for their son?”

The truth is, no one is actually “good enough” for anyone’s child. Everyone puts their child on a pedestal, and most parents do not accept anything but the best. What parent wouldn’t? With that being said, I really just wanted to say, “Thank you.”

1. Thank you for setting an example for your son.

Children take note of every move a parent makes throughout their life, and you have never failed to lead by example. Sure, no one is perfect. But you sure are close.

2. Thank you for loving him unconditionally.

Unconditional love is not something you can teach through just words. It was showing him what is was that has made his heart so pure.

3. Thank you for always pushing him to be the best he could be.

You never let him settle with being average. You taught him to be the best at whatever he does, no matter what.

4. Thank you for being hard on him when you needed to be.

I know from experience that he is not always the easiest to deal with. I can’t imagine what he must have been like as a child. It was your patience and logical punishing that have given him the guidelines and structure he needs in the future.

5.Thank you for teaching him the book.

No matter what the religion, one thing that a lot of parents do is teach morals. He is the man he is because of the book he was read.

6. Thank you for demonstrating a healthy relationship.

People don’t stay married very long anymore. With the divorce rates higher than ever, you have been together for years through whatever life threw at you. That’s something very special, and something I know he aspires to have.

7. Thank you for presenting him with the tools he needs to succeed in life.

8. Thank you for proving that hard work leads to success.

Nothing in life ever comes easy. You started with a little and worked hard to have what you have today and provide your children with the best. That’s something to be proud of.

9. Thank you for demonstrating forgiveness.

As children, we require a lot of patience and forgiveness. It takes a lot out of you. It was because you continued to forgive that he now has the capacity to forgive others.

10. Thank you for showing him the world in its entirety and what it has to offer.

You have raised him to think outside of himself. I have never met someone so aware of the world.

11. Thank you for showing him that it is the little things in life that mean the most.

It's not about the fight you had last night. It's about the time when everyone sat around the table and was genuinely happy. It's the times when you tell each other that you love each other.

12. Thank you for proving that life doesn’t have to be perfect to be wonderful.

Life has so many ups and downs, but at the end of the day there is always someone who is dealing with something worse. We should always count our blessings, and I have no doubt he has learned that from you.

13. Thank you for raising him to be the man he is today…

I can’t thank you enough for your generosity, for welcoming me in with open arms, for accepting me for who I am, for including me, and really, approving of me.

Most of all, thank you for raising your son into an amazing person. I can’t imagine a more perfect human being to call my best friend.

Toilet Troubles

"So, usually I would never go on a Tinder date but when you are out with girlfriends and a hot Bosnian guy says he wants to hang with you and his friends, you oblige. We head to their apartment and when I realized I may pee my pants if I don't find a bathroom soon. I ask for the bathroom and a friend of my tinder date shows me to it and said in all seriousness that I was not allowed to flush the toilet under ANY circumstances. Having a few drinks--or five--I relieved myself to, nevertheless, flush the toilet. Within seconds, his bathroom was flooded and towels were laid out everywhere to catch the toilet water. To say the least, we were not invited back"
