10 Signs You Grew Up With Brothers

1)You always got the most attention.

Growing up in a family of just brothers can be hard sometimes, but don’t act like you didn’t love all the extra attention you got from your parents. As much as your brothers loved you, they were always jealous of all the attention you got.

2) You refused to let them do the dishes or laundry.

You always ended up doing all the work around the house because lets be honest, they never filled the dishwasher right and always forgot to switch their clothes into the dryer. No matter how much you wanted them to clean up after themselves, you wouldn’t let them because you knew they'd mess it up somehow.

3) You learned how to make the perfect sandwich.

All those Sunday afternoons spent making sandwiches for the boys after they did yard work really paid off. Now you probably make better sandwiches than most delis.

4) You were their personal stylist.

Any time your brothers had a date or a party, you always gave them fashion advice to make sure they’d be the best looking one there.

5) You always loved bragging about their accomplishments.

Whenever they scored a goal or won an award you were always the first one to tell everyone "THAT'S MY BROTHER!!!" You loved letting people know how proud you were of them for their achievements.

6) You always had more guy friends than girl friends.

Waking up to ESPN every morning never got old because you actually enjoyed hearing about the newest sports drama.Having brothers made you realize that being friends with girls was too much work. You’d rather chill with the bros and watch the football game than have sleepovers and gossip.

7) You had a crush on one of their friends.

No matter how chill you acted about it, you were always low-key excited when your brothers told you their friends were coming over to hang. It meant you had a chance to dress cute and flirt with your brother’s best friend.

8) You never got to eat your leftovers.

You’d nicely ask your brothers to not eat your leftovers. Sometimes you’d even leave a sticky note with your name on it, but that never stopped them from devouring all of your food.

9) They had to yell at YOU for stealing their clothes.

Instead of having to worry about sisters stealing your clothes, you had to worry about getting called out for snagging their sweatpants and comfy shirts.

10) You always felt protected.

No matter how many arguments you had or how many times you claimed you hated each other, your brothers were always there to protect you and always offered to beat up anyone who gave you trouble.

Even though you sometimes wished you had a sister, being the only girl in the family always made you feel special. No matter how many fights you had with your brothers, they were always there for you at the end of the day. Being the only sister in the family is a wonderful thing and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
