Going to a Liberal Arts college has many challenges, but the hardest challenge has to be the classes outside of ones major. Here is a list of majors every college student needs to have as a friend:
1. Math Majors
Math majors are pretty self explanatory. Whenever you have that one class where you have to do long division or write a formula to find the value of pi, a math major is the person you need. They are use to sitting in a classroom and pouring over equations and learning how to do these complex problems.
2. English Majors
English majors are great at annotating and paper writing. Who better to ask for help writing or proofreading a paper than an English major. They are use to a large course load of reading and annotating pieces of literature.
3. Foreign Language Majors
These students know how to relate words into another language. Going to a liberal arts college, I had to take two semesters of a foreign language and the people majoring in this field were my biggest resource. Many of them have been to the country that speaks the language they are studying, or have been studying and practicing the language for years.
4. Science Majors
Science students are very fact based and are great at sorting through information to find the most logical solution. When doing a science lab, they are the ones that can help you better understand the policies and protocols of a lab setting, and how to read and use a lab manual.
5. History Majors
These students have a better understanding of the past and when needing help on a paper about a historical event or understanding of why something may be important, these students will tell you anything you need to know, and then some.
6. Business Majors
Business majors are very important because they learn to have excellent time management skills and how to handle working with others in a group setting.
7. Exercise Science Majors
These students know all about nutrition and about the muscles. When wanting to work out or change your dietary plan to avoid that dreaded freshman 15.
These majors are usually very helpful and will enjoy getting to use what they learn in class in everyday life.
