11 Emotions Every Gator Fan Felt During The Ole Miss Game

In honor of the Florida Gators beating third-ranked Ole Miss this past weekend and subsequently moving up to number 11 (that is right, that is higher than FSU), here are 11 emotions every fan in The Swamp felt during the game.

1. Overwhelming happiness for the family of Chief Warrant Officer Kristian Denkins. His family thought they were being honored before the game for Denkins' service to the country during his fifth tour of duty in Afghanistan. Little did they know, it was really a homecoming surprise. As Denkins' video finished playing on the big screen, he ran out in full uniform to surprise his family.

2. Excitement for each third down, because it was time for the "money down" dance.

3. Agreement with Gator great and Hall of Famer Emitt Smith as he questioned the referees on a penalty called against Florida wide receiver Chris Thompson's hit on an Ole Miss defensive back during a kickoff return.

4. Ecstatic when Gators wide receiver Brandon Powell caught a pass from quarterback Will Grier... and went 77 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter.

5. And all smiles again when Florida wide receiver Demarcus Robinson went 36yards for a touchdown off a pass from Grier.

6. Anticipation when it got close to half time and Gator fans everywhere started believing we would really win this game!

7. Joy when Florida defensive lineman Cece Jefferson recovered a fumble by Ole Miss quarterback Chad Kelly.

8. Awe when Gators cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III made an interception in the fourth quarter.

9. Unfazed by the misty rain that started fall in the Swamp towards the end of the game. All 90,000 plus fans stayed exactly where they were.

10. Elated when the clock ran down to 0:00 and the Gators had toppled Ole Miss 38-10.

11. Most importantly, proud to be a Florida Gator, because if you are not a gator... you are GATOR BAIT!

To My Loving Boyfriend,

  • Thank you for all that you do for me
  • Thank you for working through disagreements with me
  • Thank you for always supporting me
  • I appreciate you more than words can express
  • You have helped me grow and become a better person
  • I can't wait to see where life takes us next
  • I promise to cherish every moment with you
  • Thank you for being my best friend and confidante
  • I love you and everything you do

To start off, here's something I don't say nearly enough: thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You do so much for me that I can't even put into words how much I appreciate everything you do - and have done - for me over the course of our relationship so far. While every couple has their fair share of tiffs and disagreements, thank you for getting through all of them with me and making us a better couple at the other end. With any argument, we don't just throw in the towel and say we're done, but we work towards a solution that puts us in a greater place each day. Thank you for always working with me and never giving up on us.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.

Tamatoa created a liar filled with shiny things simply for the purpose of tricking fish to enter and become his food. He too experiences a lesson in how easy it is to be tricked by shiny things when Moana distracts him by covering herself in glowing algae so Maui can grab his hook.
