90's Kids: Remember These Gems?

BORN IN 1995.

Growing up before the era of social media was very different. I am so grateful that I got to live in a world (for a little bit at least) that did not completely center around the Internet. Here were some of the things that my childhood revolved around.

BACKSTREET'S BACK ALRIGHT

These boys were my life and my world. Nick Carter filled my 5 year old thoughts and Shape of My Heart, I Want It That Way, As Long As You Love Me, Larger Than Life, & Quit Playing Games (With My Heart) were always playing on my BoomBox.

HILARY FRIGGEN DUFF

{AKA LIZZIE MCGUIRE}

HEY NOW! HEY NOW! THIS IS WHAT DREAMS ARE MADE OF!

I cannot even begin to explain the obsession that I had with Hilary Duff/Lizzie McGuire growing up, but I had a Hilary Duff bedspread. Enough said.

I was not only obsessed with Lizzie McGuire on Disney channel, but also so many other Disney Channel shows and movies .

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
