When you hear about islands in the Caribbean, the first ones that comes to your mind are probably Jamaica, Barbados, The Bahamas and so on. However, you are missing out on one of the best islands of all, and this is Trinidad and Tobago. Now there may be a slight bias here because I am from there but, many people who have visited my sweet T&T have never been disappointed.

So here are 10 reasons to visit Trinidad and Tobago.

10) T&T People are De Bess

I would say you should visit Trinidad and Tobago because of the people. I have been told so many times that Trinidadians and Tobagonians are some of the happiest and nicest people ever, and people of course love our accents, so why would you miss out on that lol.

9) Our Culture

Our culture is beautiful. Trinidad and Tobago is one of the only islands where you can truly see our melting pot. From the way we accept every religion, to our holidays, and mixture of people, Trinidad and Tobago is very cultural.

8) Our Tourist Sites

Trinidad and Tobago has some of the most beautiful tourist sites, from our Temple in the Sea, to the Caroni swamp... Trinidad and Tobago tourist sites will leave you wanting more.

7) You are not limited to a Resort

I think it is essential to say that when you visit Trinidad and Tobago you are not limited to a resort. You are welcome to roam the island as much as you want, and we do not tell you to do it at your own risk. Once you step on our beautiful islands you are considered on of us, and everything that we come with.

6) Tobago's scenery!

Tobago is so beautiful! That is all that needs to be said.

5) The Weather!

Imagine a place where it is always 75 plus degrees all year round. NO winter, fall or spring just summer all day every day! Awesome right? I think so too!

4) The Beaches

With beautiful weather comes beautiful beaches, and that is what both Trinidad and Tobago has. The warm sand, the blue or green water, the coconut trees, and the sun all makes our beaches so beautiful!

3) The Food

Trinidad has so many different cuisines from Bake and Shark, to Doubles. We have food from every different culture including Indian, African, and Chinese. You definitely would want to taste our foods when you visit sweet T&T.

2) Our Music

Trinidad and Tobago music is very unique. From our soca to our steel pan music you will definitely fall in love with it.

1) Carnival

On the topic of music, we cannot forget one of the biggest attractions and festivals of Trinidad and that is carnival. People come from all over the world to celebrate carnival in Trinidad and I would highly recommend trying it for yourself. From the vibrant colors of the costumes to the beautiful music... You just have to experience carnival.

These are my reasons that you should visit Trinidad and Tobago. I will be going back home for the summer and I hope to see some of you there.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
