Confessions Of A Girl Who Loves Food

Because food is always worth it.

Confessions Of A Girl Who Loves Food

To me, food is more than just for survival. It’s what I look forward to every day. The first thought I have when I wake up is, “What am I going to eat?” Hell, I think about breakfast before I even fall asleep! With so many varieties and tastes, it’s hard to decide what to eat. So I just eat it all.

1. I can out eat a boy ANY day.

Whoever said boys eat more than girls has clearly not met me. Whether it's burgers, pizza or wings, you bet I’m the first one with a clear plate. The looks on their faces is priceless when I put down a large meal; it’s one of the few talents that I have. Perhaps it should be "Woman v. Food"?!

2. Waitresses give me weird looks.

When I go out to eat, I mean business. I want to eat, and eat is what I do. When I go out, I get the works. Appetizer, entree and dessert. When I order, I always get looks from the waitresses, like “ You’re going to eat all that?” Yes, yes I am, thank you very much.

3. I spend all my money on food.

No matter how hard I try, I spend so much money on food. My go-to hang out idea is lunch or dinner with my friends. Even if we’re staying in for the night, a trip to Stop ’n Shop is needed for food. The mall isn’t the problem for me. It’s the food court where you will find me.

4. It’s the joke of my family.

When it comes time for any family get together, my family knows to make a ton of food. Even before people take a bite of their first plate, I’m already back up for more. My family knows not to pack up the food after dinner, because they know I’m ALWAYS going to want more.

5. I eat everyone’s leftovers.

It doesn’t matter that I just ate, I am the go-to for leftovers. I take them so often, no one even asks anymore. If someone gets full, they just pass the plate over to me. I sit there and secretly hope people don’t eat their whole meal. Screw just a bite, give me the rest of the plate!

6. Food is my favorite thing to see on social media.

When I log onto Facebook, it’s not the videos of nail art or the latest gossip of celebrities I’m after. Thanks to pages such as Buzzfeed, I have endless recipes I get to see. Dishes I never thought of appear on my timeline, and it makes me so happy. You can keep your cat videos. Show me how to make that buffalo mac ’n cheese. And brownies. And everything else.

From salads, to burgers, to sandwiches, food is my one true love. Not a day goes by that I don’t cherish every delicious bite that I get the pleasure of eating. I might be the center of jokes and weird looks, but all that is worth the satisfaction of being full after a great meal. Or at least for a little bit, until I’m in the kitchen looking for the next thing to eat.

10 Things Only Equestrians Understand

Yes, it IS a sport. Yes, I fall all the time. No, I do not ride in jeans with a cowgirl hat on.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.

Sometimes my brain just starts turning on an idea and it doesn't want to stop.
