Squash is rapidly becoming one of the most popular sports on private college campuses. For those who don’t know what squash is, it essentially looks like tennis in a room with four walls, and the players wear very stylish glasses. Last year the Dickinson Squash team joined the league. Unfortunately, the team mostly consisted of beginners who were unable to carry the team. Luckily for the school and squash enthusiasts living in Carlisle, the Dickinson College squash team has a number of freshman recruits who plan to take this team to the top.

Firstly, these players seem like the friendliest guys on campus. Freshman Abdelrahman El-Sergany, has already gained recognition from the local Carlisle Diner. These players modestly conduct themselves around campus while most of them have been ranked in the top ten squash players in the country within their age group.

Freshman Cory Litman says, “We’re going to be top 30 in the country. That’s our goal.” Cory was ranked 48th in BU-19 (Boys Under 19).

Freshman Harrison Mayo says, “I came here to join in the building of this team. I think this team will be nationally recognized within the next five years, and I couldn’t be more excited to be part of that.”

Unfortunately for the Red Devils, freshman Vince Warzecha is injured with a torn ACL. Unable to play in practices until second semester, the Devils await for their prospective star and what he will be able to accomplish on the court.

The Red Devils will hit the University of Virginia on Nov. 7 to take on Siena College. This team could not be more prepared. The entire campus can feel the excitement of the rising squash team. Nobody will want to go the entire winter without watching this team. Surely, the Dickinson Squash team 2015-2016 will bring further attention to Dickinson Athletics and the school as a whole.

When it comes to Bloomington-Normal, there are many outstanding factors that any Illinois State student can say are unique to our college town (and maybe others too). Proud or not, we Redbirds know all the ins and outs of Blono.

1. The wait for Buffalo Wild Wings is always going to be long on Thursday nights.

As hard as we try, it's nearly impossible to resist the 69-cent wings on a college student budget. Plus, they are always delicious!
