I'm sure some of you remember the cult-classic TV show Daria. The title character was a smart, cynical and brutally honest female. She was definitely ahead of her time. The show, which was a spinoff of Beavis and Butt-head, ran from 1997 to 2002. Daria made a great impression on me, and her dark, dry, and cynical humor gets me every time. Here are seven times she was my spirit animal.

1. When she was on point about life decisions every young adult has to make.

2. When she refused to be fake.

3.The moment when she regrets going out.

4. When she understood that teenagers/young adults can have just as much stress as adults.

5.When she knew that food can make things better. Especially pizza.

6. When she knew how great friendships were formed.

7. When she realized that maybe you aren't the problem — maybe it's everyone else.
