What Makes You Laugh, Cry And Smile In A Movie?

“You know, sometimes all you need is 20 seconds of insane courage. Just literally 20 seconds of just embarrassing bravery. And I promise you, something great will come of it."

- Benjamin Mee from "We Bought a Zoo."

This is one of my favorite quotes from this movie. It makes me smile as Benjamin says this to his children at the end of movie.

This quote replays in my mind when I am feeling blue or confused on a certain situation. It's also an inspiration to me to make my life memorable and special.

20 seconds of insane courage is really all you need! I believe that because life is all about taking chances in life; you really don't know what life has in store for you if you don't take a chance or take 20 seconds out of your life!

Another favorite line from this movie that makes me smile and happy to be who I am.

This movie is very heart warming, but it is a good movie showing how reality works and how it can be difficult when you had everything you ever wanted and life turns a switch and it's all gone. However, for Benjamin he made it better and did his best to have a life with his two children.

Music is a huge asset to this movie because the music helps create the lovely scenes even more beautiful.

Jónsi is a talented artist who has an insanely darling voice mixed in with charming and magical instrumental sounds.

Some of my favorite songs from this movie are "Go Do," "Sinking Friendships," "Evin Endar," "We Bought a Zoo," "Hoppípolla," "Sink Ships" and "First Day."

Each song has a different meaning and suits well with each scene in the movie. I recommend people to listen to the album from We Bought a Zoo because it gives you a boost of inspiration, a taste of hope and faith and belief in yourself to make your life absolutely amazing.

Now onto my favorite scenes that make me giggle, smile and cry tears of happiness.

This scene is close to the ending where Lily (on the left) and Kelly (on the right) are sitting and staring at the Mee family as they smile and laugh since the zoo finally opened up.

Gosh, this scene makes me giggle, cry tears of happiness and laugh since it's so cute and beautiful. It really warms my heart because this is something I would say and do at a time in life where I am happy in life.

Also, this scene brings so much joy, love, hope, belief and inspiration into my mind as the words flow out of her mouth.

This scene is a breath of fresh air.

Another scene that brings tears to me is near the end where Benjamin shows his two children where he met their mom.

Bravery is the key word to this scene. It makes me think I can do whatever life has in store for me; however, the tears trigger right as the mom appears at the table and Dylan and Rosie say, "Hi, Mom."

Going onto the next scene still brings tears to my eyes, but then I smile since it connects to the quote, “You know, sometimes all you need is 20 seconds of insane courage. Just literally 20 seconds of just embarrassing bravery. And I promise you, something great will come of it."

The part the mother speaks, "Why not?" always gets to me because this is where Benjamin's journey in life started.

And this is a phrase I use when situations like these come up in my life.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
