Halloween is slowly inching closer and closer and we all know everyone is stressing out to have a unique costume this year so here are some funny and original ideas that you can give your own twist on! Ditch the sexy or scary costumes this October and get in touch with your inner comedian instead...

1. Juan Direction

A fun twist on the fangirled boy band “One Direction”...Just get a group of friends some sombreros and mustaches and you will have a fiesta!

2. A Gold Digger

Turn this nickname into a festive word game by dressing up in all gold and carrying a small shovel. Dress the part while looking feeling good decked out in gold.

3. Damian from Mean Girls

Want to go down in history as the most fetch female? Dress the part by wearing a hoodie and sunnies and a sign that reads, “she doesn’t even go here!”

4. Shark Week

Get a group of friends and dress up as the most anticipated week of the year: Shark Week! Write the name of the week on a grey tee, splatter some fake blood, and throw on a shark hat and you’ll swim through the crowds!

5. Helga Pataki from Hey Arnold!

The key features of this highly bossy lady are a pink dress, pig tails, a pink bow, and a thick unibrow. You’ll look just like the cartoon character herself, have fun bossing everyone around!

6. Wednesday Addams

Calling all RBF-ers! Realistically, anyone can do this one. All you’ll need is an all black dress with a white collar, two braids, and the betchiest face for the public eye. Just forget how to smile, drink your daily poison, and be assertive. You’ll have people fooled that you’re the real deal.

7. Fraternity Boys

They are the most terrifying. Bros inside and out. Be sure to channel your inner total frat move by wearing Sperrys and creaming everyone in drinking games. Cuz, that’s all they do anyways, right?

8. “Cereal” Killer

This funny idea gives a funny twist to the creepy meaning. To get the look, wear torn and cut up clothing and stick small cereal boxes all over. Add a bloody knife and splattered blood everywhere and voila, no one will mess with you.

9. Wine Bag

Everyone loves a good box of wine! Dress up as your favorite flavor and you’ll be fifty shades of Franzia.

10. 404 Error

Are you the laziest person you know? Good. A plain t-shirt and a sharpie is all that you’ll need. You’ll be the most nonchalant one at the party.

11. Netflix and Chill

The Netflix marketing department is no doubt jumping for joy as they watch this costume on the internet. Who doesn't love Netflix? This is the perfect idea for a Hallow's Eve costume. Just throw on a shapeless red t-shirt and a huge bag of ice and you are ready to chill!

12. The 11th Instagram Like

Honestly, this person is always praised and usually seals the deal for most people. Let's be real, we all hit the refresh button until you see the lucky number "11" so why not be the most liked person at the party this October!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
