College can feel pretty hit or miss most days. One minute you're on top of the world, and the next you're wondering when your bad luck will run out. Such fluctuating emotions can be difficult to navigate through, and can leave you feeling vulnerable and anxious. In times of confusion and misdirection, here are some verses to help you find your footing.

When you feel alone...

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." -- Deuteronomy 31:6

"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." -- Isaiah 41:10

When you feel overwhelmed...

"You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you." -- Isaiah 26:3

"I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” -- John 16:33

"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." -- Matthew 11:28

"But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” -- Matthew 19:26

When you feel thankful...

"Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." -- Thessalonians 5:18

"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change." -- James 1:17

"A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones." -- Proverbs 17:22

When you feel anxious...

"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." -- Matthew 6:34

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." -- Philippians 4:6-7

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." -- John 14:27

"Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad." -- Proverbs 12:25

When you feel lost...

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him,and he will make straight your paths." -- Proverbs 3:5-6

"For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison." -- 2 Corinthians 4:17
