Most people are blessed with coordination and gracefulness. These people are the lucky ones. As for us others, being clumsy is literally a part of everyday life. You constantly have to make sure that you don't trip and fall over your own two feet. Being perpetually clumsy can be a real struggle. These are just 6 of the many struggles every clumsy person experiences.
1. Spilling food and/or beverages on yourself becomes a part of everyday life.
This makes social events especially hard for clumsy people. Events such as first dates, business dinners, and different banquets are especially nerve wracking for you. If you aren't careful then your dinner will somehow end up all over your outfit. You must also be aware when choosing foods that aren't too messy. So spaghetti is probably a no go.
2. Exercising actually terrifies you.
There are so many ways to wipe out while exercising. Walking is hard enough without falling. Add running to the mix and you could face some possible mishaps. Not to mention that exercise equipment, such as treadmills, is a deathtrap for clumsy people. (Yes, I fell off a treadmill. No, I am not proud of it).
3. Heels? No thank you.
You can barely walk in flats. If your friend asks you to wear heels, they obviously don't know you very well. Yes, they will make your legs look good, but not if you look completely ridiculous walking in them. Plus, is anyone actually comfortable while wearing heels? Didn't think so.
4. You were probably chosen as "clumsiest" for your senior superlative.
In high school, everyone knew you were the clumsy one. People would say things like, "You're an accident waiting to happen," or "We can't take you anywhere can we?" You may have also been called "grace" from time to time. This is something you just learned to embrace. You just have to say, "Yes, i'm clumsy and I know it."
5. If there is even small a crack in the floor or sidewalk, you will find it (and most likely trip over it).
Those of us without coordination can literally trip and fall over anything. It doesn't matter if it's literally the smallest crack in the sidewalk — or if there's nothing there. You will somehow find a way to trip. To limit these incidents you must make sure your shoes are tied and that it isn't icy out. These will increase your chances of injury.
6. Your own two feet are your worst enemies.
Your feet always seem to fail you when you need them the most. They are more dangerous than everything else for us clumsy people. They are most likely the reason you trip and fall. This is something that all clumsy people must accept in order to get through life.
