Let’s face it. Eating healthy and exercising is hard. REAL HARD. We all go through phases of eating super healthy and going to the gym daily, to eating whatever we want and counting watching Netflix as a workout. But why? Here are some tips to keep up the eating healthy and some motivation for getting your perfect bod.
Remember why you want to diet and exercise.
Whether it be you want to shed a few extra pounds or just get the six pack of your dreams, remember the factors that inspired you to change in the first place. You can achieve your goal one step at a time.
Understand your portions and results of snacking.
You can eat as healthy as you want, but it won't matter if you don't stop eating all day long. Be careful of eating too much and the deadly activity of snacking. In most cases, you are eating because you are bored, and not actually hungry. Learn to control cravings by distracting yourself or drinking water.
Drink a crap ton of water.
I can not state this enough. If you’re hungry, drink water. If you’re thirsty, drink water. If you’re bored, DRINK WATER. With a proper balanced diet, drinking a lot of water can help you shed water weight and help you appear slimmer quicker. To figure out how much water you SHOULD be drinking, take your weight and multiple it by 2/3. So, for example, 140 pounds x 2/3 (0.67) would be around 94 ounces of water DAILY.
Eating protein as well as fruits and veggies.
You can eat too much protein and you can eat too many fruits and vegetables. Remember that you need a balance of both to be healthy J
Do not over exercise.
Your body always needs to rest and re-coop in order to have effective and healthy results. Exercise 3-5 days a week and never over exercise one part of your body. Working out your abs for 72 days in a row is not good for you. Allow your body to rest and you will start getting the results you desire.
Be happy.
You are making the effort to change and make yourself better when most people are not. Try to not give into 3 am pizza or going out to eat with your friends. I have given in before and you can too. It is okay every now and then to splurge, but stick to your goals and do not let anyone else convince you otherwise. You are awesome and beautiful and you can do anything you set your mind too!
Stay healthy and good luck!
