Being a die-hard Kardashian fan, I always am "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" and recently, almost all of them launched their own app. Every sister––except Kourtney––came out with their app on September, 14. Kourtney was iffy about the whole app idea but finally decided to come out with one later this year. Each one of the girls has an app relating to something different; Kim will be talking about selfies, fashion, and tutorials, Khloe will share fitness tips, Kendall will give us a look into the world of modeling, Kylie will share beauty and fashion tips, and Kourtney will be sharing tips about parenting and interior design.
This past week, these apps took the first four spots in the "free" apps category with Kylie's app taking the number one spot. Do not be fooled, even though they are in the free category, they are not free! These apps offer a free trial for seven days, and then after that, you have to pay $4.99 for a monthly subscription, if you would like to keep viewing the updates. Currently, Kylie has been the most interesting Jenner, aside from Cait, of course. Kylie Jenner is growing up, getting wild, and getting a whole lot of work done. She is known for her luscious lips that are pumped with fillers, and this past year after gaining confidence from her hot bod and voluptuous lips, she became interested in not only fashion but also beauty. Her app incorporates her passions and puts them together in an aesthetically pleasing way for her followers to see.
In her app, she shares #OOTD's, links to her outfits, videos from her events, her favorite music, and makeup tutorials. After trying the app out for a single day, I realized that this app is NOT worth the money because:
- She already posts her #OOTD's on her Instagram and she always features them in her 300+ seconds long Snapchats stories.
- Although she does put links of more affordable options that are similar to her outfit, most of the pieces still range from $30-$200.
- If you follow Kylie on Snapchat, you have probably deleted her as a friend after a day because her Snapchat stories are obnoxiously long, but almost every event is shown on her story.
- Kylie did pick the music that you can play while browsing through the app, but some people might not even have the same taste of music as her.
- Lastly, the makeup tutorial's that she posts on her app are not even done by her. They are videos of makeup artists doing her makeup or doing another person's makeup. Even though the makeup artists are fabulous, you can probably Google their name and find multiple YouTube videos of them doing people's makeup for FREE. Also, Kylie's makeup artists all use high-end products, so they are not very affordable. In fact, the products used for Kylie's birthday makeup cost over $480 in total!
I love the idea of these apps because it gives each sister a brand of their own, but in the end, these apps are not worth the money because you can find similar information on Google or YouTube. Don't get me wrong, I love all of the Kardashian/Jenner sisters, but I think these apps took it a little too far. I'll stick to just stalking their Instagrams, Twitters, and Snapchats for FREE!
