The Day-After-Christmas Blues

December 24th and 25th are full of excitement, but what happens the day after? No one ever seems to talk about December 26th, probably because it brings too much sadness to be mentioned. Lets see if we can chronicle the events of this day-after holiday blues.

1. The alarm goes off, as always. And your disoriented state of slumber leaves you jumping out of bed, excited!

2. But as you come to your senses, things don't seem so exciting.

3. In fact, you don't want to get out of bed at all.

4. Its the day after Christmas. There's nothing waiting for you downstairs but an bare Christmas tree,

5. and a huge mess that the relatives left for you to clean.

6. The radio has stopped playing those lovely holiday tunes, and its back to today's top hits on repeat every hour.

7. And people talking about their "New Year's Resolutions."

8. With no more guests or presents to open, you can't help but think back on all the food you've eaten over the past 2 days.

9. And quickly start making some resolutions of your own.

10. Admitting defeat, you start to organize your presents into what you're keeping and what you're returning (Grandma had only the best intentions with that sweater she gave you).

11. But at least you lucked out in the cash department!

12. But no matter how much you lucked out this Christmas, you're still beyond sad its over.

13. But maybe watching Elf will help, one last time.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.

What's up Asshat,

I've composed a list of things that I wish upon you, and they're harsh and cruel. These things are things that I wouldn't wish upon my worst of enemies, not even that Starbuck's barista who always screws up my order, not even him. You fall into a whole other category of hate. You surpass Starbucks barista. Congratulations, I'm actually a pretty nice person, making you worthy of every single bit of torture I wish upon you. What are these things I wish upon you you might ask?
