1. You've bonded without technology getting in the way.
Because you've spent quality time with them without the ability to check your Instagram likes or see if that guy has texted you back, your relationship with them is stronger due to how much energy has been invested in it instead of wasting your energy draining your iPhone's battery life while with them.
2. They have been with you through the bad... and loved you through it.
When you had that awkward phase in life, yet they still talked to you, and when you hadn't showered in a week, but they still hugged you, they have loved you through it all.
3. You've bonded over the food.
You've had three hour conversations about how much you love Chicken Tender Tuesday but also bonded over your hatred for the food they served that makes you want to barf. They've eaten Oreos and peanut butter with you at 2 a.m. while talking about how much you hate high school. Your best memories come from the meal time conversations you had three times a day. Food makes friends best friends.
4. You're not with them 24/7.
You don't have to deal with them at school or at home and that makes them your go to girls when you are frustrated with your friends at home, or just need a break from them.
5. They share the same values as you.
A lot of camps have religious teachings and affiliations involved in their program. Your camp friends have the same morals and values as you, and push you to become the best version of yourself that you can be.
6. They aren't afraid to act like an 8 year old with you.
Whether you were a camper or on staff together, chances are you wore ridiculous clothes together and acted ridiculous together... and it was fun. Mud Pit, Paint Wars, and dressing like characters from your favorite movies bond people together and it is WAY more fun than what everyone from college is doing on their Friday night.
7. They are your rock, your future bridesmaids or groomsmen, and the people who complete you.
Camp friends are more than camp friends. They are the people constantly pouring into you on a daily basis and they never leave your side. I am beyond thankful that through my life I have had my friends made from camp by my side, and am thankful for the laughs, tears, and memories we have shared together.
I love you Amber, Sophie, Abbie Jo, Kelsey, Robyn, Mackenzie, Anna, and Kacey!
Thank you Ridgecrest Camps for giving me my best friends who are seeking the Lord as much as I am! If you are looking for a camp to send your child to in the future that is Christian and adventure based, or you want to one day work at a camp where you can make lifelong friends and serve the Lord; consider this camp in the future!
