College as Told by "Saved by the Bell"

Saved by the Bell is finally on Netflix so naturally, someone needed to point out how it's still so relevant for college students today. This show will always be a classic because the dynamic and themes are timeless. Yes, the characters are in high school but their unconditional friendship is something people of all ages want. Here are 11 examples of how Saved by the Bell can perfectly describe college.

1. "Ring by spring" is a real thing.

It doesn't get more southern than this. Even if this doesn't apply to you, you know more than one couple planning on putting a ring on that finger and insuring a future before graduation.

2. Sometimes the stress gets to ya.

Only three grades given in this class? I'm crying too, Jessie. Emotional breakdowns can also happen when your professors all plan tests the same week.

3. Living with best friends isn't as easy as it sounds.

Lots of girls think that living with their best friends will be easy because they get along so well but it's a lot harder than people think because of the transition from accepting their every flaw to actually living with the flaws. Luckily, if you're willing to compromise like these peeps and be open with what's annoying you, you'll be fine.

4. There is a surprising amount of choreographed dancing.

Pigskin, recruitment songs, SING, Stomp (repeat x4): it never ends.

5. Events/parties need balance.

There has to be a perfect amount of build up and fun to make it a a good night. Fancy formals and theme parties sound super fun but once you put in all the work to get dressed up, they can fall flat if there isn't enough entertainment or your expectations were too high.

6. Some pick-up lines can actually work.

Giving/receiving a pick-up line can either be really cute or really awkward. When you see a girl, go for it! The worst that can happen is she will say no but still feel flattered and respect your guts. That being said, please run a line by someone else first and save everyone the awkward silence of a terrible delivery.

7. There will always be that place where everyone hangs out.

Whether it's a coffee shop or a street full of bars, every college has a place that students go to to escape the stress of school and just be with friends. Memories here are ones we'll remember more than anything we learn in school.

8. Throwing shade is still an art.

The need to perfect your harshest face is still a huge requirement in school. How else can you keep away the randos and haters?

9. [Some of] Their clothes are still in style.

Okay, so his shorts are a swimsuit but they look an awful lot like Chubbies, am I right? And Kelly's high-waisted shorts with the crop top is definitely trending this year.

10. We're all just trying to survive until the next break.

I feel ya, Zack.

11. The real friendships will last forever.

Last but certainly not least, some people will come and go in life but there are some friends that will make it through the test of time and those are the best kinds of people.Thank you, Saved by the Bell. You've provided joy for so long and with Netflix, you hopefully will for so much longer.

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.
