Everyone needs a good cry every once and awhile. If you're anything like me, crying is not only a natural bodily function, it's an emotional outlet. Tears don't need justification of a bad day or sadness, they can serve just as well as an alleviator of repressed emotion. So here it is, friends. 10 sad songs to listen to if you need to cry for whatever reason. So get in a private place, grab some headphones, and sob away.

1. All I Ask - Adele

No one nails a heart wrenching ballad as well as Adele. This song contains all the elements of the classic tear-jerking Adele song: simple and beautiful piano, paired with that powerhouse voice, and moving lyrics. Probably my favorite song off of her new 25 album.

2. All I Want - Kodaline

"If you loved me, why'd you leave me?"

Such a beautiful, simple lyric asking the question we are too scared or too hurt to ask for ourselves. His soothing voice and captivating lyrics are stunning and calming all at the same time.

3. The Scientist - Coldplay

Yes, this song is old and I've probably heard it thousands of times, I cannot help but get a little bit emotional every time.

4. ILYSB STRIPPED - LANY

(Quick translation: ILYSB stands for "I love you so bad.) A more contemporary sounding song, featuring a soft, guitar line and a laid back beat.

5. Like a River Runs - Bleachers (Sia cover)

Sia takes this hip,up-beat original song by Bleachers and transforms it into a beautiful, heartbreaking melody. Just piano, + Sia's gorgeous voice. You'll be grabbed at the first verse and sobbing by the chorus.

6. Can't Help Falling in Love With You - Elvis Presley

Artists have been covering this timeless tune for years now, and while Tyler Joseph's ukulele rendition melts my heart every time, no cover can bring me to tears quite as well as the original by Elvis Presley. There is such a tenderness in that deep, sultry voice that can't be imitated.

7. Vienna - Billy Joel

A deep and heartfelt song capturing the time in a young person's life as they rush through their life, not taking the time to enjoy it. If you need a reminder to slow down amidst the craziness that life can throw your way, this one's for you.

8. Keepsake - State Radio

Maybe you first heard this in the finale of Weeds and sobbed all the way through like I did. Either way, this song is fantastic. This song combines raw vocals and acoustic guitar for contemplative, emotion-filled melody.

9. Hallelujah - Jeff Buckley

Originally sung by Leonard Cohen, Jeff Buckley manages to be one of the rarer cases of a cover being better than the original (and I am very picky about covers). A perfect sad song capturing the roller coaster of emotions that is love.

10. Video Games - Lana Del Rey

There is some magical quality about this song. Everything for Lana's dreamy voice, to the instrumental, and innocent lyrics transport me to a beautiful place that is poignant and sad.

Happy crying!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
