Letter to My Future Husband

Dear Future Husband,

I don't know who you are, yet, but I think of you often. Sometimes, I feel overwhelmed that I don't know exactly who you are. Have I met you? Will I meet you soon? These questions float through my mind when I get wedding fever. As I thought about how excited I am to have a family and start that chapter of my life, I realized how much I already care about you. I want you to be able to look back at this letter, and know that I loved you before I knew you.

I cannot wait to spend my life with you. From being newlyweds, to being old and gray, I am excited to see where life takes us. I cannot wait to have children and raise them with you. Things will be tough, sometimes, but I am ecstatic to see what blessings come out of the trials we face. I am already proud of the man you are. I know you will be the best husband and father anyone could ask for. I hope that I can be the same for you.

I love your humor, whether it's stupid, sarcastic or anywhere in between. I love your hair whether it's brown, blond, curly, straight or balding. I love your eyes whether they are blue, green, hazel or brown. I love your heart, because although I may not know what you physically look like, I know your heart. I know you are filled with love and compassion for everyone around you. I know you have a heart dedicated to the Lord and fulfilling His plans for you. I love you. I love everything about you. I love the way you make fun of me and even how you think you are right when you're not. I love it all.

All I ask is that you love me back, and I know you will. I know I will frustrate you and bother you with my insecurities and worries, but know that you are my rock. I am sorry for worrying about little things that don't really matter. I am sorry for the loud annoying laugh that echoes through our home and even in public places. I am so sorry for being a diva 75 percent of the time, but thank you for putting up with it. I can be extremely annoying, rude, shy and weird, but if you are the type of person I expect you to be, you can be all of those things, too.

I cannot wait to live my life with you. I am so thrilled that our lives will be filled with love from each other, our children and our families. I love you so much already and I cannot wait for my love for you to grow daily. I cannot wait to figure out the ups and downs with you. You are the man I have dreamed of forever and I am truly grateful that I am blessed with you as my husband.

Love,

Your Future Wife

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

There have been many lessons learned.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
