If you're a One Tree Hill fan, I can go ahead and assume that you love Coach Whitey Durham, because in all honesty, who doesn't? Time after time, he hits us straight in the heart with his perfect advice for any situation. He's the wise, old grandfather figure everyone wishes they could have. Here's a few quotes, from yours truly, that show exactly why he's our favorite.

1. When fear gets in the way.


2. Stop searching for answers you want and start looking for the ones that are right.


3. Take chances once in a while. You never know where you might end up.


4. Be yourself and never be ashamed of that person.


5. It's simple: you never forget your first love, no matter what or who it is.


6. Relationships aren't always easy, but with the right person, they're always worth it.



7. You might be confused on where you're headed, but when you look back on your life, you always end up right where you're supposed too.

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
