1. Halloweentown
Maybe it was just me, but I loved (and still love) everything Halloween, so seeing a kid-friendly movie about the life of witches was everything I could've asked for.
2. The Lizzie McGuire Movie
Okay, I still can't get enough of this movie.
First, this is the movie to blame for the fact that so many girls want to go to Rome.
This was also the epitome of "Lizzie McGuire;" this trip was the first time that Gordo finally got out of the friend zone and Lizzie got her moment of well-deserved fame.
Last but not least, anytime we hear anyone say, "Hey now!" we all immediately join in the "Hey now, hey nowwwww, this is what dreeeaaammss are made of!" chant.
3. The Cheetah Girls
The first "Cheeta Girls" two movies were great. Set in New York City and then Spain, it was every middle schooler's dream! We learned a little bit of Spanish in the process and we learned the true value of friendship.
Okay, I might get some mixed opinions on this one, but the movie series definitely taught us some great life lessons. Topics included romance, friendships, family, school, and work.
We learned that, "we're all in this together."
We got to see Troy and Gabriella's relationship bloom throughout three years of high school. The best part was that their relationship went off-screen as well, so the chemistry shown in the movies was real! And to think it all started because they sang karaoke together on New Year's Eve at a ski lodge.
5. The Color of Friendship
Looking back at it, this movie was really deep. The moral of this story was that no matter what your skin color is, everyone is inherently the same, and we can be friends with everyone.
6. Twitches
We watched Tia and Tamera Mowry grow up in "Sister, Sister" and then we got to see them on Disney Channel playing a pair of really funny twin witches.
7. Gotta Kick It Up
This movie was made for all the girls who wished they were cheerleaders. The movie taught us about friendship and overcoming adversity. ¡Sí se puede!
8. Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century
I only hope that when humans inhabit space it'll be just as cool as it was for Zenon! Also, I could never get the lyrics, "Zoom, zoom, zoom, make my heart go boom, boom, my supernova girl," out of my head.
9. Motocrossed
Okay, we all wanted to be as badass as Andi Carson. She showed all of the guys that girls are just as good in every aspect! Truly an inspirational movie for young girls back then.
10. The Thirteenth Year
I mean, I guess this movie highlighted the mermaid puberty process, but, to young'uns, this was another wishful fantasy movie.
