11 Things That Happen During Big/Little Week As Told By 'Friends'
TV to Me

I am just freshly off the high of getting a little, and it was one of the best experiences of my life. I met someone who I love as much as I love my big and who is a perfect addition to my already perfect family line. Having no little sisters of my own, I am so excited to show the organization I love so much to someone I love just as much. However, it is the most stressful time of my life thus far. With all the lying, secrets, and baskets, it is an insane time. What better way to describe it than with "Friends?"

1. When you tell your big that there will be a new addition.

Right after you get the news, you call your big to let her know she is a G! As you guys freak out and get so excited, you start to plan all the different Drake lyrics you can use as captions on Instagram for your brand new squad.

2. When you realize you have so much in common.

When you both finish a quote from "Bridesmaids" with striking accuracy. It is a moment to be treasured.

2. When you start the first round of lies.

As soon as they come out of your mouth you feel terrible, but you are already committed. As you say the phrase, "I did not end up taking a little this year," you cry internally.

3. When she doesn't believe the lies and you have to act calm, cool, and collected.

"I promise I am not your big but I know her! She is a (insert major that is not yours) and loves you so much already!" *internally screaming*

4. When a group of your friends try to keep the confusion going by also lying.

Nothing is better than a group lie, especially when everyone jumps on the bandwagon to help make sure that your little will be the most surprised at reveal.

5. When it is half way until reveal and you cannot take it any more.

Every time you pass her at chapter or across campus, you just want to yell out "Little," but you have to restrain yourself; it gets harder and harder everyday.

6. When you trick your friend's little into thinking it is you.

It gets a little confusing and you feel like you are living a double life sometimes, but hey, at least she has no idea who you are!

7. When you realize that you are not as crafty as you are in your head.

You buy all the canvases and sit down with all your paints to realize nothing you will even paint will look like how you planned it.

8. When it is the week of reveal and you are so pumped you cannot stand it.

In five days, 16 hours and 34 seconds you will finally reveal yourself to your little!

9. When she shows you her basket and you have to act like you do not know what is in it.

"Yes, I'll be sure to tell her you love it! No, I have no idea when I will see her next!"

10. When it is the day of reveal and you still have a whole day of classes.

You start counting down the time until reveal through how many notes you have left to take.

11. Finally reveal!

You finally have her turn around and have her realize that it was you all along! You promise to never lie to her again and you keep replaying the video of your reveal for the next three hours.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
