Out with the New & In with the Old!

I'm sure you've heard the expression, "Fashion is Timeless." Statements such as this prove why the best trends always come back around.

These growing trends have recently reinvented and evolved themselves from a previous nature and have stolen everyone's attention! So, before you go out and click add to cart, go through some of your old treasures-- you may be surprised in what you find!

Jellies

These colorful rubber shoes may make you slip around a bit on a hot summers day, but will catch everyones eyes when paired with a set of girly ruffled socks. Don't believe me? If you're a 90's kid, take yourself back to your childhood self. I'm pretty sure at some point you rocked these babies on your way to the third grade with your matching lunch box and rolling backpack. Recently, you can find shoes like these at your local thrift shop for a couple dollars, or can purchase a brand new pair on and in a variety of popular clothing websites and stores.

Tattoo choker necklaces

Choker necklaces have recently made an outrageously popular comeback. These funky yet subtile accessories are commonly paired with a variety of other necklaces. I personally remember these chokers being all the rage of elementary school fashion and throughout the 90's in general.

High-wasted jeans

High-waisted jeans, high-waisted shorts, high-waisted skirts, this trend is and has been hitting stores for a while. Not only are these flattering bottoms versatile, paired perfectly with a cropped or bathing suit top, but also this isn't their first debut. In the 70's, high rise pants were the only acceptable wear for woman, and in today's day and age these fashion legends are bringing back that same hype.

Flash Tattoos

Quarters at pizza parlor vending machines, tickets at fairs and one dollar bills at dollar stores were all spent on the ever-so-popular and must-have trend of every fifth grader...temporary tattoos! The "just add water, easily applied," and, "so much more than a sticker" love for colorful patterns and characters stuck on your skin trend is making a comeback with a new product. Flash Tattoos can be purchased online and are metallic temporary tattoos that last up to a week. These artistic designs are making their mark not only in the fashion world but also on millions of bodies as a new way to accessorize.

Cat-eye Eyeliner

Cat-eye eyeliner, huge in the 60's, was worn by icons such as Audrey Hepburn and defined what it meant to be in fashion. This heavy eyeliner trend has made a notable comeback in what means to have defined sultry eyes and is being worn by many woman on a daily basis.

Flower Crowns

These elegant and flirty accessories are worn by many current celebrities as well as millions of girls everyday. Flower headbands or crowns were popular in the 70's during the Hippie era. In an expression of free spirit and the beauty of nature, these accessories are spicing up outfits all over.

Stiletto Nails

I know i'm not the only one whose noticed this high-fashion trend, but these claws have been seen before! In the 60's, the pointed nail look was extremely popular and has recently made a comeback to many fingers.

Overalls

What once was your dorky preschool picture day outfit, is now your trendiest article of clothing! Overalls are an up and coming fad that everyone is talking about. This 90's inspired outfit is comfortable and versatile, and your perfect pair can be found in all of the hippest stores.

Fanny packs

Let's admit, fanny packs have the reputation of being the king of all goober accessories…but are they? Easy to wear and extremely convenient, fanny packs are making a comeback everywhere! With adorable new patterns, wearing a fanny pack can actually add style and accessibility to those who are embarking on an adventure!

Ray Bans

In the 80's, the only glasses any fashionable citizen was caught in were Ray Bans. Today, these shades have reinvented themselves, taking the lead once again. An outfit is never complete without your favorite pair of Ray Ban glasses, rain or shine, at any time of the day!

Scrunchies

We all know how hard it is to let go of your favorite scrunchie...but maybe now you don't have to! Scrunchies are back in the scene with a makeover! New colors and patterns are adding a fresh new appeal to these hair accessories. Wrapped around a bun, or even placed strategically on your wrist, accessorizing with scrunchies may be becoming less of a crime every day!

Birkenstock's

Birkenstocks have been popular for decades, and for good reason! These comfortable, sturdy, and wearable shoes could last a lifetime. Recently, these shoes have stolen the public eye after being under the radar for quite some time. Not only are these shoes a reliable investment, they are becoming a fashionable accent when paired with many outfits.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
